Feline Leukemia Awareness Day
Today we’re shining a light on a serious but often misunderstood threat to feline health - Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV).
This contagious virus can silently compromise a cat’s immune defenses, leaving them vulnerable to illness. An infected can pass the virus to a healthy cat through everyday interactions like grooming, sharing food and water bowls, or fighting.
Why FeLV Screening Matters:
• Catch it early. The sooner it’s identified, the more you can do to support your cat’s well-being.
• Keep everyone safe. Knowing your cat’s FeLV status helps you protect other pets in your household.
If your cat hasn’t been tested or has experienced an environmental or health status change, talk to your veterinarian. A simple test can make all the difference.
