Her son noticed it first… the limp was gone.

Hip pain in Dallas is often treated with a narrow lens—but what if the real issue is being missed?
Hip pain has a way of quietly changing how you move… and over time, how you live.

If you’ve noticed stiffness, hesitation when walking, or even a subtle limp, you’re not alone—and more importantly, you may not have been given a complete picture of your options.

In this video, I walk through a real patient outcome—four months after a precision-guided orthobiologic procedure targeting the femoral head and surrounding structures.

At Pain Experts, my focus is not just on reducing pain, but on delivering high-quality, image-guided care that supports structural integrity and long-term function.

This is about elevating the standard of evaluation—and helping you make decisions based on clarity, not urgency.

If you’re exploring options for hip pain in Dallas, this is where that conversation begins.

Avoid Back Surgery Dallas Part 1: 3 Situations Where Surgery May Not Be the First Move

If you’ve been told you need back surgery, there are three situations where that may not be the first move—and missing them can change everything.
Being told you need back surgery can feel like a final decision.

But in many cases, the question is not whether surgery is ever needed—it’s whether it’s the right decision right now.

In this video, I walk you through three critical situations where a more complete evaluation may reveal additional options before proceeding to surgery.

This is not about avoiding surgery at all costs.
It is about making a more precise, more informed decision for your spine and your long-term function.

Many patients are told they need knee replacement the moment an MRI shows “bone-on-bone arthritis.” But the most important question is not whether surgery is possible — it’s whether surgery is the right decision for this knee right now.

In this video, Dr. Deborah Westergaard reviews a real-world consultation where a knee MRI is evaluated carefully to determine whether joint replacement is truly necessary or whether the joint still has meaningful preservation potential.

For some patients, knee replacement is absolutely the correct solution. For others, a detailed evaluation may reveal additional structural factors contributing to pain — including bone stress, ligament instability, or biomechanical overload.

The goal is not to promise that surgery can always be avoided.
The goal is clarity before making a major surgical decision.

This video is part of a three-part series explaining how thoughtful evaluation can help patients make better decisions about knee surgery.

Bone-on-Bone Knee Arthritis: Does It Always Mean Knee Replacement?

Many people are told they need knee replacement surgery simply because an x-ray shows “bone-on-bone” arthritis. But cartilage loss on imaging does not always explain the full picture of knee pain. The knee is a complex biological system, involving ligaments, bone support, joint lining, alignment, and muscular stability. In many cases, symptoms are influenced by structures around the joint—not cartilage alone. In this video, Dr. Deborah Westergaard, a double board-certified physician specializing in spine and joint care, explains why a more comprehensive evaluation of the knee may be helpful before deciding on knee replacement surgery. The goal is not to avoid surgery at all costs. The goal is to make clear, strategic decisions about joint health—based on a complete understanding of the knee. This perspective reflects the philosophy behind Pain Experts and Regen Experts: Excellence. Transformation. Quality. Trust. Before making major decisions about your joints, it is important to see the entire landscape clearly.

Avoid Joint Replacement Dallas: Why I Created Regen Experts

For more than 20 years, I practiced traditional interventional pain medicine after fellowship training with Dr. Gabor Racz and Dr. Prithvi Raj.

Those techniques helped many patients. But observing people over decades taught me something important.

Much of modern musculoskeletal medicine focuses on managing pain rather than preserving the joint itself.

Patients cycle through steroid injections.
Nerves are ablated to reduce pain signals.
Eventually many progress to joint replacement surgery.
Those treatments have their place. But the earlier question should often be:
Can the joint still be preserved?

That realization led me to create Regen Experts, a concierge orthobiologic regenerative practice serving Dallas and the Park Cities.

Using precision image-guided treatments such as PRP and bone marrow concentrate, the goal is to support joint structure and function before degeneration reaches the point where replacement becomes inevitable.

My long-term vision is ambitious.

By 2030, I would like to see joint replacements become far less common in patients whose joints remain biologically salvageable.

If you’ve been told you may need joint replacement, the first step is determining whether your joint is still structurally viable.

Avoid Joint Replacement Dallas: Biological Strength — Not the Bionic Woman

If you’re old enough to remember The Bionic Woman, you remember the promise: Harder. Faster. Stronger. But when it comes to your knees and shoulders — is mechanical replacement really the only path? In Dallas, many active professionals assume joint replacement is inevitable. In this video, I discuss a different strategy — one focused on precision image-guided orthobiologic procedures designed to support living tissue before structural collapse. After my own hip replacement, I made a decision: preserve every other joint biologically as long as possible. That commitment shapes how I practice today. If your goal is to Avoid Joint Replacement in Dallas, your first evaluation should reflect that objective.
