We are deeply grateful to the sponsors who made Roots of Hope possible.

Your support is more than a contribution—it is an investment in families, in community, and in the future of maternal health.

Because of you, we are able to expand access to compassionate, respectful care and continue walking alongside families during pregnancy and postpartum.

Thank you for standing with us and for believing in this work.

Our final Foundations of Hope award recipient is the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. We are grateful for their funding contributions and support as we continue to care for mamas and babies in DFW. They were also recognized at our Roots of Hope Brunch last Saturday.

We are still holding onto the beauty of Roots of Hope.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, and stood with us as we kicked off Black Maternal Health Week. Your presence was a powerful reminder of what community can do when we come together with purpose.

We are especially grateful to our panelists Robin Marty (WAWC) and Kalvin Bridgewater (Daddy Stoller Social Club), and our honorees — our Foundations of Hope recipients: The Boone Family Foundation, The Muse Family Foundation, and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, our Renegade Revolution recipient: Tenesha Duncan of Orchid Capital Collective, and Tequila Roberston, our Claudia Booker Black Student Midwife Scholarship recipient — whose support continues to move this work forward.

To our donors, sponsors, and auction winners, thank you for investing in families and helping expand access to compassionate maternity care.

While the event may be over, the work continues.

There is still time to make a tax-deductible gift toward our $125,000 Roots of Hope goal.

Consistent, long-term support is so crucial for the work that we do. We are grateful for Foundations of Hope Honoree, Whitney McKnight and The Muse Family Foundation. On Saturday, April 11th at our annual Roots of Hope Brunch, we paid tribute to Whitney and the Foundation for their continued support of the work that we do.

Today, we recognize one of our longtime supporters. We recognized Aimee Cunningham and The Boone Family Foundation as one of our Foundations of Hope recipients at our 2026 Roots of Hope Brunch. We are grateful to Aimee and the Foundation for their longstanding support and financial contributions that have helped us continue this important work.

Black Maternal Health Week

As we honor this important week, we pause to raise awareness, uplift voices, and advocate for change in maternal health. Here are critical facts we must all know:

🔹 Black women in the U.S. are 2–3 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women.

🔹 Over 80% of pregnancy-related deaths are preventable with timely, equitable care.

🔹 Disparities persist regardless of income or education level—this is a systems issue, not an individual one

🔹 Black mothers are more likely to experience complications such as preeclampsia, hemorrhage, and delayed diagnosis. Implicit bias and gaps in access to quality care continue to impact outcomes for Black families.

The truth: Listening to Black women, investing in community-based care, and advocating for equity can save lives.

This week—and every week—we stand in support of Black mothers, families, and healthier futures.

Today, we celebrated the start of Black Maternal Health Week with an engaging and meaningful celebration of the work we are doing and all that we have accomplished. But we must remember that one infant or maternal death is one too many. This work must continue until all women feel safe, seen, and supported in pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.

We offer our deepest gratitude to all those who joined us today, to our donors, sponsors, staff, board, supporters, and most importantly our clients. This work is only possible because of you and your willingness to support, share and uplift.

Please continue to amplify this work and its importance.

There’s still time to give and to participate in our silent auction via www.givebutter.com/2025rootsofhope
