Normal day at the office!
Governor Abbott’s Executive Order which becomes effective March 10, 2021, will not change any of Uptown Vision’s infection prevention policies and procedures regarding COVID19.
The order states, nothing which precludes businesses from requiring employees and customers to follow additional hygiene measures, including the wearing of a face covering.
Uptown Vision will continue to follow CDC guidelines for a medically based business. Our priority is to keep our staff and patients safe during this difficult time.
Patients having completed the 1 or 2 dose COVID-19 vaccine will still be required to mask per CDC guidelines.
Thank you for your continuing support. We have made it this far, let’s continue working together to reach the end of the pandemic, together, safe and well.

Our practice, Uptown Vision, will be continuing to making adjustments as we open to routine eye care as well as seeing emergency patients. We made some adjustments before we were closed but to emergency patients only. We will start back up on Friday but with the current changes still in place for the safety of patients and staff. We will be working over time to get the practice back up and running....but will be doing this slowly. Please be patient with us as we get back to giving the great customer service that we are known for. Please stay safe everyone.
It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.
We at Uptown Vision wish you a Happy Easter! 🌺🌸🌼

To the Uptown Vision Family of Patients:
We have all been impacted by recent events due to the COVID-19 Corona Virus. Uptown Vision’s main concern, as always, is the health and well-being of our patients and staff.
In accordance with Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins (effective March 23rd @ 11:59pm), Uptown Vision will be postponing routine eye care visits in an effort to combat Covid-19. In order to alleviate increased demands at urgent care/emergency rooms, we will provide medical eye care on an urgent as-needed basis. We will be available to schedule appointments, place contact lens orders, and assist with “curbside” pickup of contact lenses and glasses. Any adjustments of glasses will have to be done after we resume normal business services, due to the close proximity required to make those adjustments.
As a small business, we hope you will order contacts and eye care products through our team. We can direct ship contacts to your home at no additional charge. We can apply your vision plan benefits and email your receipt. Please reach out by phone and leave a voicemail if we may be of any assistance.
Our doctors are on call for you for any urgent eye health matters, via phone, Facetime, or Skype. You can set up an appointment to speak with either Dr Bill or Dr Roshie by calling the office at 214-953-3937. Please follow the voicemail prompts depending on your ocular issue. If you have an emergency and feel you need to be seen, please call to speak with the physician on call. They will assess your condition and see you in the office if needed to avoid a trip to the ER.
We will keep monitoring the situation as it evolves and provide an update when we will be able to provide routine vision care again. To our patients – we thank you for your support, your understanding, and your trust. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has been affected by this situation. Please stay safe and healthy.
You are not alone. We will all get through……. together.
Dr Bill and the Staff of Uptown Vision
Uptown Vision has always been committed to the health and safety of our patients, community and our staff.
The Uptown Vision practice has always been based on a one to one staff patient ratio. We are customer service oriented and feel this is best achieved by not over booking. This has always allowed us to keep a very low patient density in our office at one time. This scheduling allows patients to keep the recommended social distancing while in our office and allows our patients minimum interactions with other patients.
Because of the current spread of the Conronavirus (COVID-19), we want to assure you our policy for years requires sterilizing all equipment both immediately before and after each use to ensure no germs are spread from one patient to another. We have always been proud of this commitment.
Our policy also requires cleaning each eyeglass frame after patients try them on. We are increasing that cleaning procedure to include an additional sterilizing technique.
While cleanliness has always been a top priority of our practice, we are also increasing our frequency in which “high touch” such as our reception tables and our restrooms areas will be cleaned and sanitized. You’ll notice we have also removed magazines from our waiting areas to help ensure a more sanitized environment.
Additionally, we continue to practice good hygiene by requiring our doctors and staff to wash their hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds. We use a hand sanitizer between hand washings.
We are having all patients receiving an eye exam acknowledge their possible contacts and/or travel outside the US in the last 14 days. We are also asking anyone with these symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue to please call and cancel their appointment. We will be waiving cancellation fees during this period.
Uptown Vision will continue to closely monitor COVID-19 and will follow the guidelines provided by local and national organizations like the CDC and WHO, and can assure you our practice remains a safe place to continue your uninterrupted eye health care.
Please stay safe and let’s help take care of one another.
