At Faith Presbyterian Hospice, we sit hand in hand with those we serve through often one of the most difficult times of their lives. Our team cares deeply for each patient and their loved ones and very often, an unbreakable bond is formed during the time we spend together.

One way we keep those we've served close to our hearts is with this bulletin board in our teammate break area. It is filled with heartfelt notes of thanks, photos and other priceless artifacts to commemorate and celebrate the lives of those we've grown to love so much.

Last week we carefully archived each of these items so our team can look back on them throughout the coming years. We cannot express how much the thoughtfulness of the families who send us these letters and photos means to us! It is truly the fuel that keeps us going and striving to make each moment matter for those we serve. Thank you!

A few Saturdays ago, professional facilitators and volunteers gathered on the Faith Presbyterian Hospice campus to lead Camp Faith – a bi-annual grief camp designed to help children and their families who recently lost a loved one.

Camp Faith provides group and individual activities for families to participate in as they work through their sorrow while honoring and remembering those they lost.

Faith Presbyterian Hospice Music Therapist, Alyssa Price, and her teammates have been busy spreading holiday cheer throughout the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center. In addition to the beautiful holiday decorations, wearing festive accessories and regular music therapy visits, this group has entertained patients and their families with Christmas Caroling sessions.

One session occurred last Friday with Frankie Hudson, a 100-year-old patient (pictured in the red sweater), joining in on the fun. Her face lit up when the group sang 'Silver Bells' - her favorite Christmas tune. Enjoy the caroling here: https://youtu.be/eeHXi1brMfE

Happy Monday! Enjoy these beautiful photos Faith Presbyterian Hospice teammate, Rita West, took of our campus last week. The colors of the autumn leaves are gorgeous!

In the summer of 2020, Carter Soderberg spent several weeks at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center (TBPHC) visiting patient Mallory Maclay Creixell, mother of his best friend, Mateo. Mallory battled her last days of cancer at TBPHC.

During her stay, they all took peaceful walks around the pond, feeding the ducks and reflecting on life, while immersed in the beauty of the area. Carter, a member of Boy Scout Troop 838 of Dallas, noticed that an outdoor seating area near the pond would be the perfect addition to the serene setting and decided to dedicate his Eagle Scout Service Project toward building one.

Our teammates genuinely care for and enjoy spending time with those they serve. Here's an example of that idea in action as a PVN teammate recently spent his lunch break playing chess with a resident.

Occurrences like this are commonplace on each of our campuses, but we don't take them for granted. We firmly believe that moments like these are what really matter the most in life.

Children's Grief Awareness Day seeks to bring attention to the fact that often support can make all the difference in the life of a grieving child. It provides an opportunity for all of us to raise awareness of the painful impact that the death of a loved one has in the life of a child, an opportunity to make sure that these children receive the support they need.
