✨The first Saturday in April we commemorate the founding of NKT-IKBU by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche in 1991🪻

The occasion is marked by special events and by pujas and dedications at Kadampa centers worldwide.

Prayers are made for the flourishing of Kadam Dharma throughout the world so that all living beings might quickly find permanent inner peace.

Above all, we remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang in founding NKT-IKBU.

As he explains in his book The Mirror of Dharma:

"The Indian Buddhist Master Atisha founded the Kadampa lineage in general, and Je Tsongkhapa founded the New Kadampa lineage in particular. Both lineages are the very essence of Buddha’s teachings and are most suitable for people of this modern age."

In recent times, Venerable Geshe Kelsang brought these two precious lineages into the modern world and founded the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT-IKBU).

He left an extraordinary legacy from his life's work and inspired thousands of people of all nationalities to continue creating the conditions for pure Kadam Dharma to spread throughout the world.

Thank you Geshe-la! 🐢

May the precious, supreme bodhichitta
Grow where it has not yet grown;
Where it has grown, may it not decrease,
But flourish for evermore.

💛💜

✨DALLAS | SANANDO LA MENTE CON LA MEDICINA DEL DHARMA✨

🗓️ Domingos de 11 a 12:15 horas, del 5 al 26 de abril
📍 Kadampa Meditation Center Texas: 1875 Laws Street

✨ HEALING THE MIND WITH THE MEDICINE OF DHARMA✨

🗓️ Sundays, April 5 to April 26 | 11:00AM – 12:15PM
📍 Kadampa Meditation Center Texas: 1875 Laws Street

Dharma is the Sanskrit word for Buddha's wisdom. Meditating on this wisdom is regarded as medicine for the mental pain caused by our negative minds. If we can accept that craving, anger, ignorance and other negative states of the mind are like diseases that make our body and mind unhealthy, we'll naturally want to find an effective way to start healing 💛.

No matter how successful we are in creating seemingly perfect external conditions, there are invariably drawbacks; they can never give us the perfect lasting happiness that we all desire.
