Thank you Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for illuminating and clarifying the path and turning the wheel of Dharma. 🙏🙏🙏☸️☸️☸️
May everyone be happy
May everyone be free from misery
My no one ever be separated from their happiness
May everyone have equanimity free from hatred and attachment.
Join us at 7 pm on Thursday for special Offering to the Spiritual Guide prayers to celebrate Buddha's return from heaven day.
On this day we celebrate Buddha’s return from the desire god realm called Land of the Thirty-three Heavens, where he had been to visit his mother who had been reborn there.
This will be a special opportunity to come together as a sangha and hold our spiritual guide close to our heart.

"You who take on the great responsibility of caring in every way for the doctrine and migrators,
Giving to everyone equally, without discrimination, the precious opportunity to accomplish one’s own purpose and the purpose of others;
O Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka,
Please remain at my heart forever,
So that all directions will be pervaded by your matchless, excellent deeds."

We're rejoicing at this beautiful tormas made for Dorje Shugden, our dharma protector, and his retinue. Many members of our sangha have been working on these for weeks! We owe a huge thank you to Meisu for leading us in this incredible project and teaching us how to make qualified tormas.
Tormas are traditional offerings. Tor means everything and ma means mother. We give them to symbolize giving everything we own to our kind mothers-- all living beings. We make ours out of marzipan, and try to hold a clear mind with the intention to benefit all mother sentient beings as we sculpt them. We offer these to Dorje Shugden and his retinue, and they experience great bliss. 🌟🌟🌟
Join is at 7:15 for a very special Wishfulfilling Jewel with Gen-la Jampa and come check out the new tormas!
Gen-la Jampa is here this weekend! Join us tonight at 7:15 pm for a special Wishfulfilling Jewel puja with Gen-la Jampa presiding.
We'll have a full day of teachings this Saturday and a talk on Sunday, and for those with a sincere wish we are blessed to have the opportunity to take refuge vows with Gen-la Jampa Saturday afternoon.
This is a rare and precious opportunity!
TJ is looking like the Buddha of Spiritual Power, Vajrapani, manifesting the power to destroy obstacles! He stands on a pile of rubble, overcoming the karma long preventing us from making progress on the path. May we all overcome every obstacle to happiness and the enlightenment of all beings. We hope this gives you some motivation for your day. 🙏 Life is Dharma and Dharma is life.
We often create obstacles for ourselves by expecting too much, but when we have strong faith and practice joyfully change comes easily.
The Great Mother is a perfect and powerful pocket practice-- we recite the Heart Sutra and dissolve all obstacles and interferences into emptiness. This practice took 11 minutes on a lunch break.
"Form is emptiness, emptiness is form. Emptiness us not other than form; form also is not other than emptiness."
What is your favorite practice when you have 15 minutes to spare?
Tuesday night is study night at the temple! The Foundation Program group is a friendly, committed and diverse group of people all diving deeper into Buddhas teachings together. The spiritual path is not a lonely solitary one, but a path that we travel together. If you’re interested to connect in this way we welcome you! FP meets on Tuesdays 7-9pm.
Join us this Wednesday at 7 pm to learn how to stop overthinking.
Our deluded minds are all thought-- when we overthink it is like pouring fuel on the fire. Buddha gave us many powerful and effective tools to still and quiet our noisy mind so we can finally experience the peace that is always within us.
In-person classes are back and going strong! We had a full house yesterday in Dallas. Check out one of our classes this week. Monday evening in Plano, Wednesday evening in Dallas AND Fort Worth.
Thank you everyone for a lovely day at KMC Texas and a special thanks to Meisu for our beautiful new Vajrayogini tormas!

Progress on the third floor today.
This Sunday we'll be looking at how delusions are formed in our mind, and how we can stop them in their tracks before they can harm us or others. We all need these powerful and protective teachings as we travel the Joyful Path of Good Fortune!

Renovation Update: Clearing out, packing up and giving away things progressed well this week. During the week we are a small but mighty crew! Transformation occurs gradually like the opening of a lotus. Sept 6 the hammers come out for demolition!!
Our community is so wonderful! Around 15 of us gathered in the last couple of days to learn the art of torma making from Meisu, a long time Kadampa practitioner from KMC NY. Tormas are special food offerings offered to the deities. Buddha taught to make these offerings to create positive karma, pacify hindrances and receive blessings to gain spiritual realizations. Meisu is here for about a month to help us make an entire set of these offers for our shrine. More classes are coming soon!
"The path to enlightenment is really very simple-- all we need to do is stop cherishing ourself and learn to cherish others." -Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the New Eight Steps to Happiness
When we cherish others we hold their happiness as more important than our own. Harmony, peace, and happiness naturally increase around us and within us.
We can be playful, happy and light in our practice-- showing little kindnesses, expressing gratitude, and holding beautiful wishes for others in our heart.
Join us Wednesday at 7 pm for the next class in our Meditations for a Clear Mind series. We will be learning to meditate on our root mind at our heart center. This powerful meditation quickly settles the mind and reveals the stillness and clarity that is its true nature.
Today we begin the process of renovating the third floor of our temple! We had more than 20 volunteers help to start cleaning out the third-floor storage areas, kitchen and meditation room. These pics don’t do it justice! We have accumulated so many things over the last 25+ years and now is the time for nonattachment, generosity and good ole letting go of material things. As one member remarked, purification is a necessary part of the practice of total transformation. After about six months the temple will be able to host more classes, prayers and community social events. We are delighted to be transforming the space for our growing community! Thank you to everyone for such a fun morning and for all the laughter and hard work!
What is Powa? - Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong
Join us Friday at 7:30 pm for Powa Prayers.
Powa is a beautiful practice of transference of consciousness which allows us to transfer our own and others' consciousness to the pure land of a buddha at the time of death.

Come join us for a weekend with Gen-la Jampa!
September 17th & 18th
Buddha is a wise and skilled guide, like the trusted captain of a great ship. The community of Buddhists (Sangha) is like the crew on this ship and the Buddhist teachings (Dharma) are like the great ship itself in which we can cross an ocean of suffering. Through seeking refuge in Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, we will arrive in the safe harbor of liberation and enlightenment and then be able to help and guide others to the same state of peace.
Join us for a special day event on following the Buddhist way of life. There will also be the opportunity to formally enter the Buddhist path and strengthen our practice of Buddhism by taking the Refuge Vows.
DAY 15 ~ THE SOURCE OF ALL JOY
Every time we take part in an International Festival we are reminded of the immense kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche from whom everything meaningful arises.
From the very depths of our hearts we thank you Venerable Geshe-la. You are in every respect the source of all joy.

DAY 11 ~ MANIFESTATIONS OF KINDNESS
This wonderful Festival is a manifestation of the great kindness in the heart of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. It is his wish that we gather three times a year for international Festivals and enjoy teachings, meditations and prayers as an international family. Each time we do we feel more and more the great kindness at Venerable Geshe-la's heart and experience more and more deeply his extraordinary vision.

This Sunday we'll receive teachings on developing the wish to attain enlightenment.
This should be a no-brainer, right? Who wouldn't want enlightenment, complete bliss and freedom from suffering? But when we really check we find that we are constantly chasing other desires, that we enjoy our attachment, that we don't even believe that enlightenment is possible. We might even worry that enlightenment would be boring.
Don't despair! Buddha knows our minds better than we do, and taught many techniques for gaining and strengthening this incredible wish.
Reminder, no Wednesday classes for the next two weeks!
Thank you Josh for a wonderful class! We'll be taking a break from Wednesday nights for the next two weeks for Summer Festival. Sundays will continue as usual!
Last class in the series! This week we'll cover the next steps of meditation.
Through simple breathing meditation gradually our distracting thoughts will subside and we will experience a sense of inner peace and relaxation. When the sea is rough, sediment is churned up and the water becomes murky, but when the wind dies down the mud gradually settles and the water becomes clear.
Join us for a series of guided breathing meditations for experiencing inner balance and inner peace.
