Every day we can remember the extraordinary kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, our Root Guru and the Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition. But on this auspicious day, the day of Venerable Geshe-la's birth, we also celebrate Buddha's first Turning of the Wheel of Dharma 💛

With minds of rejoicing and gratitude, we make an offering of our faith by reciting the special prayer Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso from His Faithful Disciples and by collecting our Guru’s name mantra in a one-day retreat 💛

MOVING FROM DOUBT TO CONFIDENCE

The great Buddhist meditator Shantideva said:

I should maintain self-confidence in three things: my Dharma practice, my Dharma activities, and overcoming my own delusions.

For thousands of years, Buddhist meditators have practiced in this way.

Join us to learn how to rely upon practical wisdom and meditation to increase your confidence, and to align your daily activities with your spiritual life goals. Relax and enjoy nature between meditations.

At the beginning it does not matter if our meditation is successful or not, because simply by generating a good motivation and trying to meditate we are creating the cause for future mental peace.

Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, appeared in this world in 624 BC.

Just as doctors give different medicine for people with different illnesses, so Buddha gave different teachings for people with different problems and capacities.

In all, he gave 84,000 different types of teaching, or Dharma.

THE POWER OF STEADFASTNESS

It is said that with stable, indestructible effort all good qualities and realizations will increase day by day.

Je Tsongkhapa said that with such effort we will complete our spiritual practice.

More moments from our away retreat - Compassion, the unsurpassed path ✨🧡

Thank you again to everyone who made this retreat so beautiful and meaningful. 🦋💚

05/08/2026

This past weekend, deep in the heart of the Texas countryside, 30 people gathered for a meaningful retreat dedicated to compassion, healing, harmony, and happiness. 🤍🌿

Together, we listened to teachings, contemplated deeply, and meditated on Buddha’s advice for viewing others through our own eyes of compassion.

In a world filled with uncertainty and challenges, creating space for kindness, connection, and inner peace felt especially precious. 🕊️

Surrounded by nature, heartfelt conversations, and moments of quiet reflection, the retreat became a beautiful opportunity to step away from the busyness of daily life and reconnect with what truly matters. 🌅✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create such a warm and compassionate community weekend. 🙏💛
