LHSON pre-nursing in Waco hosted a tailgate party before the football game against Air Force with faculty and Dean Plank. We were also honored to have Veronica Marquez, a DABSN student who served in the Navy, helped to hold the American flag during the national anthem during the pre-game ceremony. We also recognize Caitlin Conway, another DABSN student who served in the Army National Guard. Special thanks to Dr. Kathyrn Osteen, Assoc. Dean for Pre-Licensure Program, for taking photos during the pre-game ceremony on the field!

Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing faculty, students, and alumni represented BU at the Texas Nurse Practitioners Annual Conference. We were thrilled that LHSON alum and faculty member, Dr. Sharon Quigley received the TNP 2024 Above and Beyond award. She was honored by having the Texas State flag flown above the State Capitol on Saturday, September 7th, in her honor. Congratulations!

This summer, a dedicated group of undergraduate and DNP students from the LHSON spent two incredible weeks in Zambia. Partnering with Northrise University in N'dola and Family Legacy in Lusaka, they brought their servant hearts to the forefront. In addition to conducting health screenings for over 800 school-aged children and nearly 100 vulnerable young adults training to become mechanics, they also formed meaningful connections with our in-country partner nurses and nursing students. These experiences will stay with them forever and have profoundly changed their perspectives on global health and service.
