Southwell Massage - Jennifer Southwell, LMT

Southwell Massage - Jennifer Southwell, LMT Therapeutic Massage for Renewed Health and Longevity. Providing quality massage therapy in Lewisville, Texas since 2008. You must need the rest.

Specializes in muscular relaxation through fascial alignment. I view my role in the massage as a facilitator. This is your massage and you are in complete control. As I explain to my clients, I know how your muscles are responding, but I don't know how it FEELS to you. So I need feedback as you feel it necessary to give. If you're relaxed enough to doze off, then sweet dreams to you. However, if w

hat I am doing is causing you pain, I want to know that so I can make adjustments on them amount of pressure or the technique I'm using. The goal is to help you feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and in less pain from cramped up or over stretched muscles. I want my clients to feel like they've had a massage, a good massage, when they walk out of the office door. I massage a client like I would want to be massaged, with care and respect.

A year ago, my business doors were closed in mid-March until mid-June. We were all confused and scared and wondering what was going to happen to us. I wondered if my business would survive a pandemic.

Today, I count my blessings and I am deeply grateful. I've been fully vaccinated for about a month now. I have every confidence in the great infection control procedural system I have set up to ensure everyone's safety, and this will continue even post-pandemic. Masks are still required in my office. Fear not, I have your back in case a mask is forgotten. I have extra, and am very happy to share. I have also reopened my online booking system so that you can book your appointment at your convenience once again.

I am very excited and happy to be moving forward this year. I hope to see you soon. Blessings to you and your loved ones.

Friends,

As of today, Gov. Abbott has included massage therapy establishments (and those like myself, independent Licensed Massage Therapists) in the list of industries that can reopen.

I will NOT be reopening this month. I have my online scheduler blocked off until June 15. I am in the process of creating new guidelines for accepting clients and making your massage as absolutely safe as possible. Including, but not limited to, I have ordered several quality air purifiers to help with the removal of germs in the office. These items have not arrived yet.

I'm also changing the interior of the treatment room. Anything that will grab and hold on to germs needs to leave, including the fake plants and fluffy blankets.

We will also be taking our temperatures at the door. Yes, I said We. You deserve to know that I am healthy as well. I want to reiterate that I will do everything within my power to ensure my massage office and treatment room is safe for you.

We are in this together.

I'll see you soon. ❤
-Jennifer

Under the Executive Order GA-23 issued by Gov. Greg Abbott on May 18, laser hair removal establishments, massage therapy establishments, massage schools, and other places where massage therapists may practice their trade may reopen immediately, except in Deaf Smith, El Paso, Moore, Potter, and Randall counties. (These activities may resume in those counties on May 29.)

Re-opened laser hair removal establishments and places offering massage therapy must ensure at least six feet of social distancing between operating workstations. Please note that all massage therapists and laser hair removal technicians should follow these health guidelines: https://gov.texas.gov/uploads/files/organization/opentexas/OpenTexas-Checklist-Massage-Personal-Care-Beauty-Services.pdf.

Consumers should consult this document for info:https://gov.texas.gov/uploads/files/organization/opentexas/OpenTexas-Checklist-Massage-Personal-Care-Beauty-Service-Customers.pdf

Hello, my Friends!

How are you doing? Are you creating new things? Have you learned a new skill? Exploring new hobbies? Have you updated your kitchen? 😄

Or have you just... Been. That's me, honestly. I get up in the morning, check my garden while having coffee, then pretty much feel useless, and maybe a bit lonely, during the day until my family can get back together in the evenings. We're all in the same house, but different corners.

We'll get there, y'all.

Life may not be like it was before. But that may not be all that bad, and it's definitely not the worst case scenario. We have an opportunity to have hope in this moment. I'm excited about that.

Y'all take care of yourselves and your loved ones, my friends. Please help protect our neighbors by wearing a mask when you're in public. Be well! And I'll see you soon.

For fun, here's a pic of a cute cat named Trevor for you. (He's a goof.)

Carry on.

Hi friends!

I'm unsure when I'll be reopening my office. Currently, the governor still has massage therapy establishments on the closed list. But even when he does decide to open MT offices, I'm uncertain that I'll immediately follow suit. I will not risk your health.

In the meantime, if you are interested in purchasing gift certificates for Mothers Day or for yourself for a future massage, please contact me via messenger. We'll make that happen for you.

You are very important to me. I want to remind you to take care of yourself. Part of my self-care is I have taken up a new hobby. My husband and I have started a very small garden and it's growing like gangbusters! My friend, get out of your house and into your yard. Go get a little sun (with protection,of course), go for a walk, swim in your pool if you have one. Dance it out!!

Always,
Jennifer

The following is a statement from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations, the government entity that is over massage therapy in the state of Texas. But first [my thoughts].

[Personally, I feel that this is late and that April 3 is too soon to resume operations. My practice is not considered a "massage establishment" per state regulations. These are places like spas and subscription establishments like Massage Envy, where multiple therapists are employed. However, I do feel that responsible therapists will have suspended operations at this point. I know I have closed operations until April 14, but even at this time I'm concerned that it'll be a much longer time until I'm able to see clients again. Y'all, just keep keeping on. We'll get through this.]

STATEMENT FROM TDLR:
March 20

Texas Massage Establishments Closed From March 20 to April 3

AUSTIN – As of midnight on March 20, all Texas massage establishments are closed until April 3 by executive order of Gov. Greg Abbott. The closure is intended to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

TDLR reminds other practitioners that they must continue to observe sanitary requirements. Anyone seeking guidance about whether to continue providing services should contact their local health departments or county judges, who are authorized to make that decision.

How y'all doin' out there? My youngest son is home safe from college, my oldest son is on a U.S. Navy destroyer somewhere in the Pacific, my dad's ok at his place, my husband's home, and we have enough groceries for a couple of weeks.

How you doin'?

03/16/2020

Hello my friends. This is definitely a trying time for our nation and the world. In response to the COVID-19 coronavirus, I am ceasing operations for four weeks. Because this virus has such a long incubation period with no symptoms, I cannot, in good conscience continue to see my great clients, potentially and unknowingly transferring the virus to you, your loved ones, or additional members of our community. Rest assured, I always make sanitation the highest priority in my practice. But I feel it would be irresponsible to rely solely on my own sanitation practices to protect you. This means you will not be able to book your appointment online, as usual. IF you are in extreme need of a massage, please call me. Please leave a message, if you get the recording. Or text me. We can then talk and determine the best course of action.

I want you to know how much I appreciate you, and how much I absolutely value you and your health. I'll see you soon, and I look so forward to that day!

Blessings and Great Health to You,
Jennifer
