What a week to wrap and open 2025 and 2026. This week’s yogic wisdom for this special week is Upekkhā (oo-PECK-kah)—equanimity, the fourth of the Brahmavihāras. A steady, spacious presence that allows life to unfold without grasping or aversion. Not indifference, but balance.
Upekkhā is the sattvic state: not too heavy like tamas, not too stirred like rajas—just right, like Goldilocks finding her perfect bowl of porridge. It teaches us to stay centered amid pleasure and pain, praise and blame, gain and loss. The quiet steadiness that lets us breathe evenly whether a pose feels effortless or demanding.
Through Upekkhā, we learn to care deeply without being consumed. While we cannot control outcomes, we can choose how we meet each moment—with clarity, dignity, and trust.
