At Giving Hope, we know many of our egg donors live active lifestyles — and staying healthy during your cycle is important! 💪🥚✨
During an egg donation cycle, your ovaries become enlarged as the follicles grow. Because of this, high-impact workouts and heavy lifting are usually restricted to help reduce the risk of ovarian torsion (a painful twisting of the o***y) and discomfort.
Here are a few workout guidelines donors should keep in mind during cycle:
• Avoid heavy lifting, HIIT workouts, CrossFit, intense core workouts, and running once stimulation medications begin
• Low-impact movement is encouraged unless your coordinator advises otherwise
• Walking, light stretching, yoga, and Pilates are great alternatives to help you stay active safely 🧘♀️
• You may notice bloating, pressure, fatigue, or soreness as your follicles grow — this is normal
• Hydration and electrolyte intake become extra important during cycle
• After retrieval, your body still needs time to recover, so continue avoiding intense exercise until medically cleared
Every donor responds differently, so always listen to your body and follow your clinic’s instructions throughout your cycle. Your health and safety always come first 🤍
