We’re checking how the hip, knee, and pelvis coordinate so the right tissues feel the stretch and the wrong ones don’t pinch. This is how we turn “my back/knee feels tight” into a clear plan.

Tight neck after a long screen day?
Here’s a quick 30-second trap stretch we coach in the clinic to take pressure off your neck and shoulders.

How to do it:

- Sit tall. Drop the shoulder you’re stretching (reach fingertips toward the floor or hold the chair).

- Gently tip your ear away from that shoulder until you feel a stretch along the side of the neck/upper shoulder.

- No pinching on the other side of your neck—if you feel pinching, back off, add a small chin tuck, and keep the shoulder down.

- Breathe slow for 30 seconds, then switch sides.

Common mistakes to avoid:

- Yanking on your head (light guidance only, if any).

- Letting the shoulder shrug up.

- Arching your low back or jutting your chin forward.

Pro tip: If you sit a lot, do 1–2 rounds per side, 2–3x/day. Pair it with 10 gentle shoulder blade squeezes for extra relief.

We assess hip-flexor/quad tightness and glute activation. When the front of the hip gets short, the glutes “clock out,” and your low back takes the load. Result: tightness, achy knees, slower lifts, and cranky posture.
