This group of future nurses, therapists, and physicians demonstrated exceptional commitment and passion, completing 40 hours of volunteer service prior to returning to school. Check out these firework safety tips from The National Safety Council so that you can stay safe and enjoy the 4th festivities!

- Never use fireworks while impaired by drugs or alcohol.
- Anyone using fireworks or standing nearby should wear protective eyewear.
- Never light them indoors.
- Never throw or point fireworks at another person.
- Only light one device at a time and maintain a safe distance after lighting.
- Soak both spent and unused fireworks in water for a few hours before discarding.
- Keep a bucket of water nearby to fully extinguish fireworks that didn't go off or in case of a fire.
