North Texas Therapy & Home Care is a therapist owned and operated company. Our processes utilize the most up-to-date technology and methods of treatment.

At North Texas Therapy & Home Care our goal is to create a comfortable therapeutic relationship in a relaxed atmosphere to help children reach beyond their individual goals. In January 2005, we established our company as North Dallas Speech with a primary focus on personalized care for Speech Therapy services. In order to provide comprehensive care to our clients, we found it necessary to include

Physical and Occupational Therapies. With this expansion in 2010, we became North Texas Therapy & Home Care, a licensed Home Health Agency. Our dedicated team of professionals includes Speech-Language Pathologists, Speech Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and Translators. We encourage open lines of communication between the therapist and family to ensure regular progress updates and availability to our staff when questions arise. We create individualized plans of care and implement them with interdisciplinary communication to ensure all medical and educational professionals, therapists and consultants are working towards the same goals.

👕👗 Helping Kids Dress for Success – The Power of Occupational Therapy! 👗👕

Another area to work on as an Occupational Therapist is dressing. While it may seem like a simple daily task, dressing involves so many skills—and that’s where OTs step in to help!

✨ OTs carefully assess everything that can impact dressing, including:
🟢 Muscle strength
🟢 Gross & fine motor skills
🟢 Coordination
🟢 Cognitive and visual-motor skills
🟢 Sensory processing

From pulling on shirts to managing tricky fasteners, they break down each step and teach strategies that make dressing easier and more independent. 💪

👟 When needed, they also train kids to use adaptive equipment to support independence.
🦿 OTs can even help children learn to put on their AFOs (ankle-foot orthotics).
💍 And for those who are ready, they can work on donning accessories like watches, necklaces, bracelets, earrings—or even styling hair with bows or ponytails!
