Certified Life Coach through Mindvalley and their Evercoach program. As a long time health and wellness advocate I finally decided to put my continuing wellness journey on a page. I will be posting info on healthy foods, wellness practices and anything else that will help you take charge of your health as well as sharing my challenging moments. After being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in my early 20s, I spent a lot of time listening to professionals tell me that there was nothing I could do to heal myself. Much later I decided to really look close at was making me ill. I incorporated all aspects into my introspection: mental, physical & nutritional. Many years of studying and following many different roads I finally was able to get some answers (and solutions) to taking charge of my health. The road led me down a path of a Reiki Master, Law of Attraction Facilitator EFT Certified, Aroma Freedom Technique Teacher, NBCHWC Certified Health Coach and most recently a Certified Life Coach through Mindvalley's Evercoach program. The road is ever expanding for me yet always with the thought of how I Am I creating my own experience so that I can share that with others. I continue to explore all aspects of fitness & wellness; mental, physical and spiritual and hope to share and make a difference in your own lives with my stories. Make lists of positive aspects. Make lists of things you love—and never complain about anything. And as you use those things that shine bright and make you feel good as your excuse to give your attention and be who-you-are, you will tune to who-you-are, and the whole world will begin to transform before your eyes. It is not your job to transform the world for others—but it is your job to transform it for you. A state of appreciation is pure Connection to Source where there is no perception of lack.

ARE YOU DOG TIRED? SLEEP, We never seem to get enough of it. Did you know that not enough sleep can make your blood sugar enter a roller coaster? When you are sleep deprived your cortisol levels can rise this known stress hormone. This can cause you to search for comfort foods that are not really supporting your wellness just because you’re trying to make yourself feel better because you are exhausted. There’s another hormone that gets released when you are sleep deprived, it's called ghrelin. This hormone that is made in your stomach is known as the "hunger" hormone. This little. hormone can trigger the need to eat. When we're sleep deprived, we tend to make less than great food choices just to make us feel better.

So now that you know some of the triggers that can cause you to snack when you don’t get enough sleep, here are some tips on how to get better sleep.

1. Try to go to bed at the same time every night. The body loves rhythm and routine.
2. Create a spa like environment in your room, dark, quiet, cool, comforting smells (lavender is great). Use a diffuser to spread the scent.
3. Create a media free zone – I know this can be hard as we tend to use our phones as alarm clocks now, but start with small steps, move the phone charging location away from your head or night stand if that’s where you charge it.
4. Remove clutter from the bedroom. This can trigger chaos in the mind which makes it hard to sleep. Watch Marie Kondo on Netflix to get inspired. I sure was.
5. Get some sunlight during the day! Walk outside for 20 minutes. The sunlight triggers your brain to release specific chemicals and hormones like melatonin that are vital to healthy sleep, mood.
6. Don’t watch stimulating t.v. or the news right before bed. Remember, we’re winding down.
7. Create a night time routine, “The Power Down Hour” starts with deciding what time you want to get up, how much sleep you’re wanting to get (shoot for at least 7 hours), work that backwards, then take the hour before that bedtime to start winding down. Journal to leave your thoughts on the page, turn off the t.v., don’t answer emails, maybe have a warm bath or shower.

Make it easy, pick one thing to try this week and add others in the next few weeks until you have a bedtime routine that really fits with you.

II'm excited to announce that I'm in school to become a Health Coach so I can expand my Aroma Freedom Practice. I'm looking forward to being a more well rounded coach to those who may need it. The curriculum should be done in June along with 2 more months of expanded training. Yay Me!!

Life Will Always Be Working Out for Me. . .

I like understanding that things are always evolving, and while there are many things that could be better where I am, it is not really a problem because “where I am” is constantly changing to something better. I like knowing that as I look for the best things around me where I am, those things become more prevalent in my experience.

It is fun to know that things are always working out for me, and as I watch for the evidence of that . . . I see more evidence of that every day.

By My Attention to Things, I Am Making Choices… What people do not understand is that you do not choose something by looking at it and shouting “Yes, I would like some of that!” You make your choices by your attention to things. In this Universe that is based on attraction, when you look at an unwanted thing, your attention to it causes an activation of the Vibration within you, and then the Law of Attraction brings more like it into your experience.

Our Story

I have been a long-time health and wellness advocate and my introspection has led me down many roads. A desire to heal myself physically and emotionally began my exploration into all possibilities and modalities. Many years of studying and following those different roads, I finally was able to get some answers (and solutions) to taking charge of my health and wellness. The exploration led me down a path of a Reiki Master Instructor, Law of Attraction Facilitator, EFT Certified Levels I, II & III, Conscious Creation Facilitator from my Mentor, Dee Wallace, Young Living distributor and now Certified Aroma Freedom Practitioner and Instructor in training. I know that the introspection will never end but I feel I have the best set of tools possible to resolve anything that comes my way and to help other with these tools as well. Soon I will be certified by the Health Coach Institute so that I can create more value for my clients.
