Sundays are for slowing down, tuning in, and starting new rituals that nourish your body from the inside out. 💛

Begin your morning with a few minutes of gentle movement — maybe a stretch, a breath, or a walk outside — and follow it with this golden turmeric-ginger smoothie:
✨ 1 cup almond milk
✨ 1 tsp turmeric
✨ ½ tsp fresh ginger
✨ 1 banana
✨ A pinch of black pepper (to activate that turmeric!)
✨ Optional: a handful of spinach for extra nutrients

Blend, sip slowly, and take a few deep breaths while you do.

It’s Monday and you know what that means - it’s time to move! Your lymphatic system thrives on movement — no fancy workout required. Gentle stretches, shoulder rolls, or even a few deep breaths can help your body detox, boost immunity, and keep you feeling light and balanced.

Try this:
✔️ Bounce or sway for 2 minutes
✔️ Rotate your neck and shoulders

It was an honor to attend this year’s Celebrating Women luncheon hosted by This incredible organization has raised more than $42 million to advance the fight against breast cancer in North Texas. My dear friend, survivor and client, was one of the keynote speakers along with her precious, incredibly well spoken son, Jack! I finally had the opportunity to meet and talk with the extraordinary Dr. Joyce O’Shaughnessy, one of Dallas’ top oncologists. She was the physician of my very first client I treated with lymphedema in the home health setting. I became incredibly close to this particular woman who lived far longer than anticipated because of Dr. O’Shaughnessy’s commitment to research science and her patients’ quality of life. Clea Shearer from told her story of battling an aggressive form of breast cancer with her unique brand of humor and courage! After multiple surgeries and procedures, she is officially cancer free! Guests received an advanced copy of her book that I’m ready to dive into! Here’s to all you brave people out there who have beat cancer, who are currently in the fight for their lives and to those who stand strong with them! 🌸💞🎀

Movement Therapy is a place for healing through mental relaxation and physical motion. Our group classes emphasize healthy aging, provide support & healing for those living with chronic medical conditions, and ongoing recovery following injury or surgery. Of course, everyone can benefit from slowing the everyday pace a bit, so our Gentle, Restorative Yoga, Deep Stretch and Mindful Meditation classes are great for everyone, no matter your level of experience on the mat. At Movement Therapy, Yoga is for everybody!
