As our interdisciplinary team prepared a treatment plan for Mr. Avalos, he shared that he and his wife, Aida, were on vacation in the Rio Grande Valley when he became ill. With his life waiting for him back in Arizona, Mr. Avalos trusted in our team to get him home.
In less than a month, Mr. Avalos achieved this! He was weaned from oxygen support, walking independently, and completing self-care activities without assistance.
