πŸŽ₯: When Mr. Rivers transitioned to Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Bossier City to recover from cardiac arrest complications, he couldn't get out of bed without maximum assistance. He was on a ventilator and required a feeding tube to receive his nutrients.

Despite these challenges, Mr. Rivers was determined to collaborate with our team and regain his independence. He set goals for himself and worked hard to achieve them.

As Mr. Rivers and our respiratory therapy team worked to wean him off the ventilator, our rehabilitation team helped Mr. Rivers stand. Alongside this progress, his feeding tube was removed, allowing him to enjoy his favorite food - pineapple!

Upon discharge to his home, Mr. Rivers could walk using a rollator walker with stand-by assistance for over 500 feet.

Although we will miss Mr. Rivers and the smile he shared with us, we're honored to help him return home to his wife. Congratulations on accomplishing your goals, Mr. Rivers!

πŸ“Έ: After ankle surgery, Ms. Fraga suffered a cardiac event caused by a blood clot. When Ms. Fraga's heart returned to a sustainable rhythm, she was transferred to Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Round Rock.

Upon arrival, she was on a tracheostomy tube to support her breathing, required a feeding tube to receive her nutrients, and needed maximum mobility assistance.

As part of Ms. Fraga's personalized treatment plan, she worked with our respiratory, rehabilitation, and clinical team members to rebuild her life. While at our hospital, Ms. Fraga improved. She could breathe independently again and took her first steps since the surgery. Alongside this progress, Ms. Fraga's feeding tube was removed!

As she prepared to discharge to inpatient rehabilitation, Ms. Fraga could walk over 100 feet with a rolling walker. We wish Ms. Fraga the best as she continues to restore her strength!

πŸ“Έ: When Mr. Metcalf, a veteran, transitioned to our hospital for specialized care for complications and respiratory failure, he had pneumonia, was on a ventilator, and needed a feeding tube to receive his nutrients. Mr. Metcalf struggled with his mobility and required maximum assistance to stand at the bedside.

Despite his complex condition, Mr. Metcalf, his family, and our team believed he could beat the odds. As our respiratory therapists weaned Mr. Metcalf from the ventilator, our rehabilitation team focused on Mr. Metcalf's mobility. With their guidance, Mr. Metcalf's feeding tube was removed, and he began to eat donuts, his favorite food! Alongside this progress, Mr. Metcalf's strength improved, and he could walk with supervision for up to 50 feet with a rolling walker. As part of Mr. Metcalf's treatment plan, he followed an antibiotic regimen to clear his pneumonia. In the face of any challenge, Mr. Metcalf persevered.

Beyond clinical care, our team built a lasting connection with the Metcalf family. We celebrated Mr. and Mrs. Metcalf's anniversary and bonded over his love for his dog! We're honored to help Mr. Metcalf return home. Congratulations, Mr. Metcalf!

When Mrs. Grimes, a first-grade teacher, transitioned to Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals for continued care from a spinal stroke, she required moderate assistance to sit in bed and relied on our rehabilitation team for all mobility and self-care activities.

Our interdisciplinary team collaborated with Mrs. Grimes and her family on a plan tailored to her rehabilitation and wound care needs. In the face of any challenge, Mrs. Grimes' family was by her side.

With her loved ones as her source of inspiration, Mrs. Grimes focused on rebuilding her strength! She committed to her goals and was able to walk 30 feet with a rolling walker and perform self-care activities with set-up or moderate assistance. Alongside this progress, Mrs. Grimes' wounds improved.

Mrs. Grimes' ultimate goal was to discharge to inpatient rehabilitation by her birthday. Thanks to hard work, she achieved this on her birthday! Before her discharge, she shared her next goal - to return to teaching this fall! πŸ’™

πŸ“Έ: Four years after discharging from Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals , Mr. West returned to thank those who had an everlasting impact on his life. Since discharge, Mr. West has focused on prioritizing his health. He has lost over 200 pounds, walks for a mile and a half every day, and participates in a bowling league.

While Ms. Rasdon was in our care, Hayleigh celebrated Ms. Rasdon and her accomplishments with acts of kindness. The empathy Hayleigh shared through her connection with Ms. Rasdon is everlasting.

After complications from , Ms. Duran transitioned to Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Southeast Arizona to rebuild her life. Upon arrival, she was on a ventilator, required a feeding tube to receive her nutrients, and couldn't move without assistance.

As our respiratory therapists weaned Ms. Duran from the ventilator, she shared how her family served as her source of motivation to accomplish the goals outlined in her individualized treatment plan.

Under the guidance of our rehabilitation team, Ms. Duran's feeding tube was removed. She learned to walk again and regained her ability to perform self-care activities independently. When her family visited, Ms. Duran enjoyed eating the Mexican food they brought and updating them on her progress!

We're so honored to help Ms. Duran return home to her children! πŸ’™
