Did you know Genecov Orthodontics is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year? To celebrate this milestone, we are spotlighting some of the patients that have come through the doors of our practice with ties to both Dr Ed and Dr Jeff Genecov.
Three generations of the Kallman family, Kris, Kelly and Jack, have been patients of Genecov Orthodontics since 1988. The family is from Austin, and has driven back and forth to Dallas countless times in order to be treated by Dr. Ed Genecov and Dr. Jeff Genecov.
Kelly was born with a bilateral cleft lip and soft palate in 1980. She and her mother, Kris, were first referred to Genecov Orthodontics by surgeon Dr. Kenneth Salyer. She started out with oral appliances to widen her bite and then graduated to braces. Along with many other corrective procedures to her face, she also had major surgery on her upper jaw to improve her bite and place the jaw in the right cosmetic and functional positions. Kelly vividly remembers Dr. Ed Genecov, who engineered the alignment, telling Dr. Salyer “you cannot be off by even one millimeter,” and being so impressed. Kelly’s braces were removed in 1994, and she wears a retainer every night…never forgetting the hard work and dedication that went into creating the beautiful smile she has today. (Also, that Dr. Ed Genecov told her she “had to wear them until her grandchildren’s grandchildren graduated college.”) Kelly now lives in Dallas and is still a Patient of Genecov Orthodontics.
Kelly’s nephew and Kris’s grandson, Jack Kallman, had his smile straightened with braces thanks to the help of Dr. Genecov and his team! Jack is now 21 years old and living in College Station, Texas.
Finally, Kris Kallman, also trusted Genecov Orthodontics to help straighten her smile using Invisalign.
The Kallman family remembers Dr. Ed Genecov fondly and thinks of Dr. Jeff Genecov and his staff as family. They believe the “compassion, care and artistry that they received from Genecov Orthodontics changed their lives.”
