Getting ahead in the game in prep for this year and reviewing all of the stuff we have to consider when preparing for camp. You end up needing a LOT of stuff for 3 weeks away from home. I really like using under bed storage and shelf bins, door hooks and a hanging shoe sorter for stuff I want close at hand. Can't wait to add my new Type1Conqueror banner up for this year! .

The Diabetic Journey
Insulin isn’t a convenience medication
Insulin isn’t a medication that you can skip or forget to take
Insulin doesn’t suppress minor symptoms and then everything’s okay
Insulin is not a cure
Insulin is a life support for people living with type 1 diabetes
Insulin is one of the most expensive liquids in the world
And Insulin happens to be hard for diabetics to get their hands on
Insulin is not Advil, it’s oxygen 💉💉💉

The Diabetic Journey
I just want everyone not in this situation to understand what it would be like to have a life threatening illness such as . Where the ONLY thing keeping you alive is this vial of insulin.
But this single vial of insulin costs around $200-$400 without insurance and you may need 1-3 more vials just to get through a month. But depending on your premium costs, deductibles, and copayments, you could be coming out of pocket for a huge sum of it.
Now keep in mind that pharmaceutical companies are continuing to hike up the prices for this medication that keeps adults (like myself) and children alive. Due to the high cost many families are suffering financially, diabetics are rationing their insulin that can lead to complications or death, and it's forcing people to have to choose between food or insulin to stay alive.
I hope that everyone will share this because millions of lives depend on this. It's literally life or death. We need more awareness, we need justice, and for price gouging of life sustaining medications to end.

The Diabetic Journey
No one knows that diabetes kills more people than AIDS and Breast Cancer combined. No one knows that diabetes can be caused by an autoimmune disease. No one knows that children are dying from this disease. No one knows the overwhelming sense of fear of not knowing if your blood sugar will withstand the night. No one knows how it feels to experience the highs and lows.
No one knows of our desperation for a cure…
