I’m the fat kid in this photo.

The one people cracked jokes about.

The one teachers didn’t expect much from.

The one who dreamed small because surviving felt big enough.

But God didn’t laugh.

God didn’t overlook me.

He covered me, molded me, refined me — and put something in me this world couldn’t ignore.

I went from being counted out to building a life that blesses others.

From being doubted to being documented — with legends, with leaders, with legacy.
And now I tell my kids:

You don’t need to fit in. You just need to line up with God.

If you feel overlooked, this post is for you.
You’re not forgotten — you’re being formed.

Today, we remember the brave—but we also remember the God who defines true freedom.

(John 15:13)

To every soul who gave their life for this nation—we honor you.
To the God who gave His Son to save the world—we worship You.

Let this day be more than BBQ and flags.
Let it be gratitude in our hearts and purpose in our lives.

Freedom isn’t free. It was paid in blood—on the battlefield and on the cross.

You are the center of everything.

You carry so much on your shoulders—with grace, with grit, and with a kind of quiet strength that humbles me every single day.

Our boys don’t even realize yet how lucky they are… but one day, they will.

They’ll look back and understand that their confidence came from your encouragement,
their joy came from your laughter,
and their strength came from your sacrifices.

And me? I’m just standing here in awe.

I married the woman of my dreams—and then I watched her become the mother I didn’t even know our kids would need.
