Thank you, —We just returned from a 12-day mission in Liberia, where we completed the first of a three-phase project aimed at establishing mental health resource hubs throughout the country. is Dr. Spirit’s nonprofit, and when I say the team she assembled—including the U.S. delegation alongside the in-country fellows—only one word describes it: dynamic.
This trip was both eye-opening and life-changing. To witness the passion and vision of Dr. Spirit, and to see the brilliant minds gathered around the table listening to the needs of the country, was a powerful reminder that working together for the greater good is the true definition of community.
We worked. We laughed. We listened. We stepped up for one another. We stepped in, locking arms with the leaders and future leaders, doing our part to help move the country forward in mental health services—aligned with the goals they have expressed for their nation.
