What have you done lately That was strictly for your enjoyment?
One of my favorite things to ask new clients is what do you do for fun? I always ask that because the further we get into adulting, the easier it is to be caught up in only doing things that are income based, have a purpose or serve a specific goal we’re hoping to achieve. With practically everything we do being linked to a specific outcome, it can be difficult to just find the enjoyment in everyday tasks or even feel satisfied once the task is complete. But what if I told you that playing, even in adulthood, has a huge impact on your quality of life?
Studies have shown that doing something playful is essential to brain development. It stimulates creativity, and releases endorphins, which relieves pain, stress, and Improves your overall well-being. To put it simply, play is a vital part of living a happy life.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but:
Go back to the hobbies and habits that feed your soul. Spend more time doing things that bring you pure enjoyment; not compensation & notoriety - just bliss.
