Celebrating is such an important way to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in clinical research. It's a chance to recognize the contributions of researchers, clinicians, study coordinators, and, of course, the participants who make these trials possible. Although it was yesterday, we haven’t forgotten!

THANK YOU for all of our wonderful participants, study partners, families and colleagues in the world of research. We couldn’t do it without you!

Last weekend, DSF had the privilege of attending the Family Fit Fair and we had a blast getting to engage with our community! Our Brain Trivia sparked meaningful conversations and left participants with valuable takeaways about brain health. We can't wait to continue collaborating with our community partners to keep the momentum going.

Last July, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a notable approval for LEQEMBI® (lecanemab-irmb), the first medicine to slow the rate of cognitive decline in certain patients with early Alzheimer's disease (AD), a brain disorder that gets worse over time and affects memory, language and thinking.[1,2]

The treatment was tested in a large 18-month clinical study in patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and mild dementia due to early AD. Even though you cannot stop AD from getting worse, with LEQEMBI, you can take steps to slow how fast it progresses.[3] That's why identifying symptoms early on is so important.[1]

Listen in to what our very own Dr. Diana Kerwin, MD, Principal Investigator had to say!

Even though you cannot stop Alzheimer's disease from getting worse, with LEQEMBI, you can take steps to slow how fast it progresses

In honor of Black History Month, we are celebrating our modern History Makers in the field. Today we highlight, Dr. Tamiko MaGee-Rodgers, Associate Director, Recruitment and Strategic Initiatives. Dr. MaGee Rodgers has worked in the field of aging for over 20 years, including serving as a Mental Health Clinician and a Case Manager in a Psychiatric Pavilion for older adults. She supported a longitudinal Alzheimer’s disease study at the Indiana University School of Medicine where she engaged in community outreach efforts to support recruitment and retention. Prior to joining GAP, Dr. MaGee-Rodgers served as a Clinical Research Scientist in the medical device industry supporting clinical trials focused on total joint replacement. She is responsible for assisting and leading the development implementation and management of recruitment strategies for GAP-enabled clinical trials. She leads GAP’s Inclusive Research Initiative (IRI) team with our Community Connectors, working in tandem with our GPS liaisons, to reach traditionally underserved populations to educate and provide access to neurodegenerative research. GAP salutes you and your excellent work!
