Just kidding! This took months of work and isn’t some nervous system trick that allows the client to achieve the results in the gym and lose them as soon as they stand up.

We all want results that happen instantaneous but the truth is anything worth having takes work and time.

We put in the work to achieve these results but surprisingly we didn’t do much of this stretch or foam rolling.

We focused on increasing thoracic extension through exercise selection while getting in a great overall workout.

We didn’t have to sacrifice multiple workouts or change our exercise experience while still achieving results!

Sometime you just have to put in the work and that’s what me and my team here are here to help you accomplish, your goals!

Don’t add more challenge to your nervous system for the sake of it.

Unstable surfaces usually cause the nervous system to restrict movement, strength, effort, etc…

Challenge your balance and muscles on solid ground and see those balance gains improve!

Rolling is one of the best ways to improve so many facets of your fitness journey.

☑️Balance (vestibular health)
☑️Motor control
☑️Flexibility
☑️Spatial awareness (falling)
☑️Mobility
☑️Spinal love

I paired this rolling exercise with heavy squats. This allowed me to work on everything above while still strength training.

I find pairing ground based movements with multi joint movements allows me to access more Range of Motion and challenge my vestibular system with both exercises.

Rolling along with ground based movement is something we do so much as a child and forget as an adult and it shows! Get back on the floor and play around like you did as a kid and reap the benefits!

Little changes make a big difference!

Here I have with a before and after on some technique work with his squat.

In the first picture you can see he has his weight on the edge of both feet but most noticeably on his right foot. He also has his feet very wide and his depth isn’t low enough.

We worked on the tibial rotation in his right foot to help keep his foot straight and not toe out or load the edge.
We also worked on decreasing his stance width to help with knee valgus (collapsed knee or knees) and ankle mobility on his left ankle to increase squat depth.

As you can see in the second picture and side by side his squat is much cleaner now and allows for more movement and safer lifting while under load.

These little changes will lead to big changes in weight with his squat and keep his back, ankles, knees, and hips happy.

Although he squats during athletics at school there’s not often enough coaching to assess one on one. That’s where comes in and helps guide this athlete so there’s less chance of injury in the future!

All about that bass, no hip extension

Here is small segment of a PDTR session with a client who was having trouble using his right glute.

The first test you can see there is no neurological lock and he can’t stop me from pushing his leg into the table.

At the end of the video you can see me pushing and he’s able to neurologically lock his glute and prevent me from pressing his leg into the table.

PDTR helps assess the body neurologically and find problems with the “software”

Think of it as a hard reset for your brain. It helps clients to gain back control while dissipating pain.

It’s always good to pair these new locked in movements with some homework to keep everything working smoothly and gain better understanding of how your body works.

Have questions about this process or how it can be used for your circumstances? Let me know in the comments or feel free to DM me!

Weight Distribution

Where should my weight be in a squat?

Ball of the foot?
Heel?
Outside or inside?

In this video we go over weight distribution and how to hinge properly to keep that weight where we want it.

Watch the video to determine if you’ve been squatting “correctly”

There is no such thing as a perfect form but there are ways to train to decrease injury and increased musculature. We are big believers in training multiple modalities and techniques. Come learn with us!

Physical fitness has been found to be one of the top five habits of successful business people according to a Harvard Business Review study. According to the study, CEOs exercise regularly, averaging 45 minutes daily committed to a fitness regimen. The article stated executives express a desire to "train just as elite athletes do."

We are proud to call some of Dallas' most prominent business executives our clients. Come see us at The Forge on Dyer to learn more about customizing a unique fitness and wellness program suited to your needs and schedule.

Quarantine 15???

My client Sunil has been putting in the work since January to get ripped up for the summer and didn’t let the pandemic stop those results. How?

🟠Eat Healthy, even while staying home and being bored.

🟠Resistance Train. Sunil reached out to me and asked for some basic equipment to stay in shape when the gym closed for shelter in place. We kindly obliged because we want our clients to succeed no matter the circumstances.

🟠Discipline & Dedication. Working hard and eating right 90% of the time. Always pushing for more and not letting anything set him back. Sticking with his plan.

🟠Allowing indulgences. Although he worked hard he still allowed some epic cheat meals. This helped prevent plateaus and relieve stress.

What do you want to accomplish with your body? What are you doing to see that through? Do you need help?

Come see me or hit me up on here to get results!!!

Don’t rush results

We all want to go to the gym, hit it hard, and see instant gratification...real life isn’t like that.

Discipline > motivation

The best way to see those results is choosing discipline over motivation. People go to bed every night and are motivated to do better the next day until that 🚨 goes off. Committing to going to the gym is much better than thinking about going to the gym.

Remember to do it the boys.

Backline work!

Decided to target my posterior chain today

Top left: underhand power row. Keep above 90% of your peak power until you can’t.

Top right: Walkover to elevated bridge. Working on slowing down descent and landing softly. Also, working on increasing shoulder flexibility and mobility.

Lower Left: Bridge to standing. This one was rough and I’m supposed to slide up instead of force myself up but it’s been 15 or so years since ive tried so I’ll cut myself some slack. Work on spinal extension, flexibility, and mobility.

Bottom right: bent over row with opposite leg extension. Focus on rowing and extending opposite leg at the same time. Working lat thoracolumbar fascia and Glute just like when we walk or run.

Not shown: deadlift, archer pull ups, and RDL’s.

The posterior chain is often neglected not only for strength purposes but also flexibility and mobility. This workout was designed to alleviate all three. Try it out and let me know what you think!

Very humbled and proud to be chosen as one of 20 under forty!

There are so many people to thank for this opportunity. I would like to thank my wife for her encouragement, patience, and love. Without her love and support and so much work behind the scenes I would be lost.

I want to thank my father and mother for raising me to always fight for my dreams and for being great examples.

I would like to thank my partner Hugh for taking a chance on me and believing in my dream.

Lastly, I’d like to thank my clients. Without them I wouldn’t be the trainer I am. They have driven me to learn more, become a better person and trainer, all while encouraging my passion for this industry.

Excited for what the future holds as we work as a team to bring approachable fitness to Dallas at !

Repost from

“I did not have an easy or linear path to opening my own studio and, at times, I doubted that I had the talent, the skills, or the resources to be able to see this dream to fruition…I hope that I am able to look back on this accomplishment as the first of many, but will never forget the drive, determination, and struggle that it took to get me there.”

Client problem:”every time I lay down at night and sleep on my back I get a headache. It goes away if I turn my head to either side or sleep on my side or stomach”

Solution: pressure receptors on the back of the head in two spots caused the client to go hypertonic. One high and one low on right side were causing the traps and on both sides of the body to activate when laying down. I utilized P-DTR to the hypertonic areas and client noted no more headaches when laying down in that position.

Reasoning: a muscle is like a light switch, it should be able to “turn” on and off at will. Sometimes muscles get stuck in a heightened state and refuse to relax.
With P-DTR we help the brain to process the incoming signaling and give better outgoing signaling resulting in less or no pain.

With that comes relief
🤤ahhhhhhhh 🤤
