Floatation therapy takes place in a floatation tank (also called a sensory deprivation tank or isolation tank) containing 10 inches of super-concentrated Epsom salt & water solution. Our floatation cabins contain 270 gallons of water and 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt each. The density of the water makes it possible to effortlessly float on the water's surface and achieve complete weightlessness. The water inside the tank is self-regulated to be 93.5 degrees Fahrenheit, the skin temperature that the brain perceives as neutral, resulting in a reduction in tactile stimulation of the skin. In addition, floaters have the option to reduce the amount of visual and auditory sensory input as much as desired. This ranges from total sensory deprivation, with no light and no sound, to a floatation experience accompanied by soft colored lighting and music. We have various musical selections ranging from ultra-relaxing new age vibrational healing frequencies to downtempo electronic to classic rock, and offer floaters the option of bringing their own playlist on an mp3 player. Chair massage & reflexology by Boma Kalio available with at least one day advanced notice of appointments. Massage and reflexology sessions are 30 minutes and take place after the floatation session.

Remember the red tank, Room #1?!? It’s going to be back up and running in the next few weeks. My dear friend Carla Pond purchased it from me and will be opening her new place Water Roost in Oak Cliff.

Long time no float? Sometimes things don’t go as we planned. Adrift was supposed to re-open in summer of 2018. Unfortunately, the person that purchased Adrift could not find a location that worked for their budget. Adrift is still available for sale. It would be an asset sale. I have three of the original cabins lockers, 5 massage chairs, original phone number 214-36-FLOAT, Registered Trademark, customer list, and small wares.
Serious inquiries only. Message me on this page. Bernadette

Bernadette is one of the most hardworking people we know, especially when it comes to causes she cares deeply about. Her belief in the healing properties of floatation therapy led her to introduce floating to DFW, and her desire to help others improve their mental and physical well-being led her to create her radio show, which she also uses as a platform to raise awareness about animal cruelty. But Bernadette dedicated herself to improving the lives of people and animals long before Adrift Dallas or One Life Radio. Over the years, she has single-handedly picked up *hundreds* of abandoned animals in South and East Dallas, taking them in for veterinary treatment. This is just one example of Bernadette's boundless heart and giving spirit, which we believe deserves recognition.

You can vote for One Life Radio (small business category) once per day until October 7, so please help us show our appreciation for a beautiful human being who has impacted the lives of so many people and animals.

Love,
The Adrift Float Spa staff, past and present

You may vote once a day. The three with the most voted in each category will become finalists. Here's a complete list of nominees and more about the Green Source DFW Sustainable Leadership Awards.
