NAMI North Texas Providing support, education & advocacy for individuals and family members impacted by mental health

NAMI North Texas is the comprehensive mental health resource for North Texas, offering no-cost mental health education courses for families, training for First Responders and continuing education for care professionals. Our presentations are available to businesses, schools and churches. Formed in 1979, NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) has 1100 State and affiliate organizations with offices in every state capital. NAMI Dallas, a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible nonprofit organization, was founded in 1982. NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research and is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope for all of those in need. NAMI North Texas' membership includes consumers diagnosed with mental illness; their family members, relatives, friends, and other caregivers; mental health professionals; and all who share NAMI's vision and mission.

Our youth leaders are bringing their vision to life with a Family Art Day at The Colony Public Library, creating a space for kids and families to connect, create, and support their mental wellness together.

Enjoy hands-on activities like origami, bracelet making, journal decorating, bookmark making, Pause Pouches, a photo booth, and more.

Creative expression is a powerful tool for mental health, and this event is all about making that accessible, fun, and meaningful for families.
