There are three conditions needed for hope: 1) an acknowledgment that the attainment of Heaven is possible, 2) an acknowledgment that failing to attain Heaven is possible, 3) an active pursuit of God and Heaven.

Marx said "religion is the drug of the people," and Sagan said," It's sad to see so many dreaming it [life] away on spiritual fantasy." These people thought religion was a form of escapism or wishful thinking. The reality is that people with real hope, those pursuing God, Heaven, and holiness are the ones doing the most good for earthly society. They aren't concerned about temporal limits: their gaze is focused on the infinite.
