The Catholic Company

St. Juan Diego, a humble Aztec peasant, saw the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Hill of Tepeyac near present-day Mexico City on December 9, 1531, the feast of the Immaculate Conception at the time.

After a request by the bishop to prove her identity, Our Lady asked Juan Diego to gather the roses which he found growing on the hill. Upon opening his tilma to reveal the miraculous roses to the bishop, there was something even more miraculous present—an image of the Virgin Mary dressed as a pregnant Aztec princess.

This apparition and image is venerated under the title of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the first Marian apparition in the New World, and the only one where Our Lady produced an image of herself.

CDC

We're all tired of COVID-19, but the fact is: COVID-19 is not tired of us. This pandemic is not over and cases are still rising across the United States. It’s more important than ever to do your part to slow the spread:
• Wear a mask over your mouth AND nose when in public.
• Stay home when you can.
• Stay at least 6 feet apart from others and avoid crowds.
• Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water aren’t available.

The more steps everyone can take to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the safer we all will be. Learn more about ways you can slow the spread of COVID-19: https://bit.ly/3bGvO6p.

CDC

A new CDC report looking at 156 healthcare workers who tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies showed that nearly all had a decline in antibody response within 60 days. Because antibody levels decline over time, a negative antibody test does not conclusively mean that a person never had COVID-19. It is also unclear if declines in antibody response may increase the risk of reinfection. Until more is known about how long immunity lasts, it is important to follow CDC guidelines, such as wearing a mask, staying six feet from others, washing hands often, and avoiding gatherings:
