Daily routines provide us with a sense of comfort and control over our otherwise hectic lives. This relieving nature of a routine can be even more potent for people suffering from different forms of dementia such as Alzheimer’s disease.
One helpful tip when creating a routine for someone with dementia is it should be tailored as much to your loved one’s preferences and past activities as possible.
Read more tips for starting (and sticking) to a new routine in our blog.
Proper medication administration is a top priority for both patients and their physicians. According to the National Institutes of Health, about 50% of American patients fail to take their medications properly. Medication Management from a healthcare professional limits the chances of medicine under or overdose.
Medication Delegation is when a legally qualified healthcare professional with authority to perform medication administration trains and transfers that authority through delegation to an unauthorized person.
Home Health Companions provide access to both Medication Management and Medication Delegation to ensure the proper health of our clients.
Find out more about the benefits of Medication management and delegation in our blog post. 📖

Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women. While young women do get breast cancer, the disease is much more common in women aged 60 and older.
In addition, Menopause can also increase the risk of breast cancer.
The risk of the disease increases with age, and the age at which a woman enters menopause. A woman who enters menopause later than age 55 has a slightly higher chance of developing breast cancer than a woman who went through menopause earlier.
Death from breast cancer occurs mostly in older women as they generally receive the most diagnoses, but most of these women might die from other illnesses or diseases other than breast cancer. The Breast cancer survival rates, for women of any age, depends solely on the stage and subtype.
Moreover, any woman regardless of age who has a family history of cancer; particularly breast and ovarian, should bring it to the attention of her physician, to have it evaluated and potentially limit her risk of developing the disease.
