Legacy Cares held it annual Winter Planning and Strategy Retreat today for 2026. Thank you to the board for a very productive session. Look for a very exciting year with Legacy Cares. Officers were also elected for the 2026 year. Shannon D Mitchell-Percell - Board Chair, Ernie Cote - Vice Chair, Jeffery Gonzales - Secretary and Sandor Korponai - Treasurer.

Legacy Cares extends our heartfelt gratitude to The Round-Up Saloon and Dance Hall for hosting another outstanding fundraiser on Sunday night! For the past 26 years, the Boot Scootin' Ball (formerly the Stocking Auction) has been a cornerstone of our fundraising efforts, and we are deeply appreciative of this ongoing support. Special thanks to Donnesh and Justin for their planning, as well as to the dedicated Round Up staff, auctioneers, volunteers, performers, Santas, auction item donors, and everyone who attended and contributed. Your generosity made Sunday night a tremendous success, allowing us to raise significant funds. We are also grateful to our incredible staff and board for their invaluable help with the event.

Today is HIV Cure Research Day!

HIV Cure Research Day is observed on December 14th to raise awareness about HIV cure research and celebrate the efforts of researchers, advocates, and community members working toward a cure. Co-founded by Dr. Allison Mathews and Ms. Kimberly Knight, the day highlights the importance of ongoing research, promotes community involvement—particularly among African Americans—and encourages collaboration among researchers and people living with HIV. It serves to educate the public and recognize those contributing to this vital work.
