Managing chronic illness requires a holistic approach. Here are some lifestyle tips to help you manage chronic illness and stay on top of your health:

Balanced Diet: Eat a variety of nutritious foods to support your immune system and overall health.

Regular Exercise: Stay active with exercises that suit your condition and ability.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your body functioning optimally.

Social Support: Connect with friends, family, or support groups for emotional support.

Adequate Sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to help your body heal and rejuvenate.

Start small and build up your routine!

Here are some exercises to get you started:

If we had to cook a recipe called Yumlish, its chief ingredients would be passion and purpose. We help unpack what it means to “eat healthy” after diabetes diagnosis. 90% of diabetes can be avoided by making lifestyle changes, including diet modifications, and yet 1 in 3 Americans has diabetes or prediabetes.

Enter Yumlish. We work within diabetes to help our participants not only understand how to eat again, while considering their cultural heritage, but also lower A1C and lose weight! Cut through all the ooey gooey, information noise, and fad diets. Let’s cook what’s best for us and tap into our local dietitian community to teach us how.
