Abortion services are essential to health care and access to those services is central to people’s ability to participate equally in the economic and social life of the United States. Abortion access allows everyone to make their own decisions about their pregnancies, their families, and their lives.

Free the Pill Day is Monday, May 9, 2022, and marks the anniversary of the day the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the first birth control pill in 1960.

Barriers to birth control–and abortion–fall harder on people of color and Indigenous peoples, young people, immigrants, LGBTQ+ folks, those working to make ends meet, and people with disabilities.
We need equitable access to the full range of sexual and reproductive health care–from contraception to abortion to maternal care & beyond.

Making birth control pills over the counter is one way to increase options & expand access for people all across the country. Let’s and make care more accessible and equitable for ALL.

As you may have already seen, POLITICO released an article https://www.politico.com/news/2022/05/02/supreme-court-abortion-draft-opinion-00029473 last night about a leaked draft opinion from SCOTUS regarding the future of abortion rights.

To be clear, this is NOT an official, final order. Abortion is still legal across the nation and our clinic is open! We stand ready to assist our patients and community. Should you need our services, please call us at (214) 742-9310 to schedule an appointment.

Thank you to those who fought and continue to fight for our reproductive rights. Your efforts do not go unnoticed!

As of this week, things are looking very different for pregnant people seeking abortion care in Florida. People will be legally required to wait 24 hours after meeting a doctor prior to having their abortions.

This disruptive law will negatively impact our patients by unnecessarily delaying their care.

For many it will further complicate childcare arrangements, transportation, work schedules, missing school, and serious health conditions.

Today is the 49th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. In 1973, our founders Curtis and Glenna Boyd, opened our doors as the first facility in Texas to provide high quality, low cost outpatient abortions. We are grateful to all of our doctors, nurses, counselors and administrative staff who have continued their legacy over the years and provide compassionate abortion care every day.

Where Can I Get an Abortion? | U.S. Abortion Clinic Locator

You can get an abortion. We can help.

Today marks 49 years since the landmark Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade, protecting your right to an abortion. With regressive legislation that restricts abortion access, it’s not always clear how or if you can get an abortion. In addition to these restrictions, legal rights to abortion may soon shift with Roe v. Wade under review by the Supreme Court.

The impact of this shift cannot be underestimated. No matter how many additional barriers we must face, the real need for abortion care remains the same. New restrictions on abortion may make it harder to get care near you. No matter what barriers you’re facing, you still have the right to an abortion, and we can help you get the care you need, want and deserve.

AbortionFinder.org has safe, confidential and up-to-date information about where you can get an abortion. If a clinic near you is no longer able to provide abortions, you can also visit AbortionFinder.org to find information about other options for care that fits your needs, including options in other states.

Abortion funds and partner organizations may be able to help you pay for an abortion or travel out of state, if necessary. AbortionFinder.org has information about abortion funds and other support organizations that can help you get the care you need, want and deserve.

As we brace for new changes, including the potential rollback of constitutional protections for abortion, we recognize that many states are likely to ban abortion or severely restrict access to care.
More than half of U.S. states are certain to ban abortion, and many more states are likely to pass further restrictions on access to care. These medically unnecessary abortion restrictions disproportionately impact communities of color, young people and those with low incomes.

As we celebrate this Roe Day and the clinics, funders and advocates that serve our community, we think about the challenges that lie ahead. We are as committed to providing this healthcare as we have ever been.

Tomorrow, December 1, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear the most consequential abortion rights case in generations, Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.

The threat is real: Mississippi has straight up asked the Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. That means the future of abortion access hangs in the balance.

If Roe falls, *half* of U.S. states are poised to ban abortion. The harm and chaos experienced by folks in Mississippi and nearby states like Texas, will spread across the South and Midwest.
Make your voice heard NOW — share this to tell the world .

Fact: Independent providers operate the majority of abortion clinics in the states most politically hostile to abortion, and they provide 3 in 5 abortions in the US. Since 2016, 113 independent abortion clinics have been forced to close their doors. When clinics close, patients must travel farther, pay more out-of-pocket, and wait longer for care. Texas’ near-total abortion ban is hurting people in Texas and beyond — threatening local providers and setting a dangerous precedent across the country.
