Taylor’s childhood was exceedingly difficult. By the time she was 16, she met the father of her two oldest children. Taylor thought he would take care of her but instead it began the start of a long series of very abusive relationships.
When she was 25, she fell pregnant again, but this time she knew something had to change. But where would she turn?

When she needed help most, friends like you stepped in and made it possible for Taylor and her children to be welcomed into Buckner Family Pathways®.

We are looking for volunteers for our Family Pathways event on Saturday, September 13 — childcare, welcome team, and lunch help!

Love kids and supporting a great cause? Our Family Hope Center will be hosting an educational conference for Family Pathways participants on healing from intergenerational trauma. We are looking for volunteers to spend time with kids while their parents enjoy the conference, as well as those who would welcome attendees, graciously serve lunch to the Family Pathways mothers, and help us clean up after lunch.

Lunch will be provided for all volunteers! There are two shifts with sign-up slots open:
8:00 AM - 12:30 PM
12:30 PM - 4:15 PM

Last month, our Buckner Dallas campus won the Sibling Rivalry award for having placed the most siblings together in the DFW area.

There are more than 3,668 sibling groups in foster care in Texas. Unfortunately, only 59% are placed together due to a lack of foster homes with sibling group availability (Source: TDFPS 2024). In the month of July, our team was able to place 5 sibling groups in foster homes where siblings stayed together! At Buckner, we realize the importance of sibling placement and work hard to make that possible.

We are so proud of the hard work of our team and commitment to always serve vulnerable children and support families in and around Dallas-Fort Worth. 💙

Back to school season has been in full swing!

Buckner Dallas staff was invited by Mesquite ISD to come and speak about foster care & adoption at their back-to-school events. Our team was also able to meet many wonderful families during an expo event at Town East Mall to share how we shine hope in the local community. Every connection matters and can have an impact on a child’s story. ✏️📓

Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls®, the largest humanitarian aid project of Buckner International, serves children all over the world and across the street too.

Each summer, Buckner locations across Texas commit to hosting a community shoe drive. The shoes collected through these drives are then redistributed back to children in the community and abroad to help prepare them for the upcoming school year.

Buckner Dallas hosted a back to school event for Dallas-area foster parents last weekend. Families received school supplies, and talked to vendors who can support their foster care journey. The rest of the day included playing games, a caffeine boost from Hudson Grounds Coffee, and delicious lunch cooked by volunteers from Southeastern Freight.

Volunteers blessed our families immensely and it was a great celebration nearing the start of the school year!
