✨ RECOVERY RUNDOWN ✨
We're back with another edition of Recovery Rundown — our weekly series where every Friday we share powerful, eye-opening, and hope-filled truths about recovery.

💡 Today's Rundown: Green Spaces Release the Same Brain Chemical as Antidepressants.

Spending time in nature triggers the release of serotonin, the same neurotransmitter targeted by the most common antidepressant medications. Fresh air increases oxygen in the brain, and even contact with soil activates beneficial microorganisms that naturally boost serotonin levels.

For people in recovery, this is huge. Substance use hijacks the brain's reward system and depletes the very chemicals that make us feel calm, connected, and hopeful. Nature offers a free, accessible way to help rebuild what addiction took, no prescription required.

A walk outside isn't just a nice idea. It's brain science.

💛 Recovery heals the brain.
💛 Nature supports the process.
💛 And sometimes the most powerful medicine is right outside your door.

✨ RECOVERY RUNDOWN ✨
We're back with another edition of Recovery Rundown — our weekly series where every Friday we share powerful, eye-opening, and hope-filled truths about recovery.

💡 Today's Rundown: The Average Gap Between Symptom Onset and Treatment Is 11 Years.

Eleven years.
That's how long, on average, someone waits between the first signs of a mental health condition and receiving treatment.
For so many people in recovery, that gap is part of their story. Untreated mental health struggles and alcohol/substance use are deeply connected. Often, one feeds the other, and both thrive in silence.

Recovery means addressing the whole person, not just one piece of the puzzle.
That's why mental health support isn't separate from recovery. It is recovery.

💛 Healing the mind is part of the journey.
💛 Treatment is not weakness; it's the work.
💛 And recovery addresses all of it.

✨ Alumni Spotlight: Cash G. ✨

"Yule Sober Living was there for me at the lowest point in my life. Since day one, I felt welcomed with open arms. They offered me a safe space to learn, grow, grieve, and evolve. I had been trying to get sober on my own for so long. Many failed attempts and relapses. But once I got to Yule, I was provided with the tools and guidance I needed to get clean once and for all. Without the team and members of Yule, I wouldn't be where I am today. Now I'm sponsoring others, going back to college, and working full-time. I couldn't be more grateful that God brought me to Yule Sober Living." — Cash G.

Stories like Cash's are why we do what we do. 💛
Recovery is possible, and no one has to walk that road alone. If you or someone you love is ready to take the next step, we're here.
