Are you tired all of the time? Is it a struggle to get through your day without wanting to take a nap? Daytime fatigue is a common issue I see in my clinic. Many underlhying issues can contribute to daytie fatigue such as vitamin deficiency, sleep apnea, anemia, medication side effect, depression and more. Seek advice from your health care provider. Daytime fatigue ca also be associated with other neurological disorders. If all underlying issues have been treated, there are medications to help promote daytime wakefulness.

High blood pressure is by far one of the most common risk factors I see in patients with stroke. Many times patients will tell me they don’t have high blood pressure. They have felt fine but they have not seen a physician in years. Their only sign of the high blood pressure is when I see them in the emergency department for stroke. Untreated High blood pressure is even more dangerous for African Americans as I see them present younger and with more severe symptoms. See your primary care doctor regularly and make sure your blood pressure is under good control.

Nearly half of American adults have high blood pressure, putting them at higher risk for stroke and heart disease. The only way to know if your BP is in a normal range is to measure it.

This is my exam room today. Telemedicine visits increase access between patients and their physicians. My elderly patients that have transportation or mobility issues still have easy access to me. It helps patients not miss time from work but still have their medical needs addressed. I’m proud to have offered telemedicine services for many years now.

Yes. I often tell my patients that migraines are not just a headache but it is a brain disorder that can affect the brain function during an attack. It’s not just head pain. Slowed thinking, concentration difficulties and having a more difficult time to express yourself can occur during a migraine attack. Thank you Migraine Again & The Daily Migraine for sharing this information. Don’t suffer alone. Seek advice from your physician and a referral to a neurologist as needed.

Never ignore migraine speech problems, known as aphasia. Babbling gibberish can be related to three types of migraine, or be a sign of something more serious.
