Dr. Haddock was invited faculty at the Penn Flap Course to speak about breast reconstruction with non-abdominally based flaps. His talk focused on profounder artery perforator flaps, or PAP flaps (from the back of the thigh). Dr. Haddock is also offering LAP flaps (from the love handle) routinely now. Our paper describing breast reconstruction with a combination of LAP and DIEP flaps was published this month in . This technique involves total breast reconstruction with tissue from the tummy (DIEP flap) and from the back, or love handle (LAP flap). We have a large volume experience with both types of breast reconstruction and recently started combining them to provide breast reconstruction with a simultaneous body lift in very specific patients.
