Feeling underappreciated can be difficult. Feel this way and you could feel as though you are being taken for granted. Helping a buddy move and planning a special supper for your loved ones does, after all, demand a lot of time and effort. And when people don't appear to notice, you could feel as though your efforts go undervalued.

Being kind will increase your personal contentment. Consider if helping others makes you feel better about yourself, even if others don’t always show the appreciation you’d like.

Countless blessings have been bestowed upon us. Expressing gratitude enhances our inherent beauty. How would you define gratefulness If I asked you?

Being grateful for what you have is what it means to me. It involves finding joy in the smallest acts of kindness done by other people. Recognizing and appreciating the kindness of others and finding joy in life's little pleasures are essential components.

Expressing gratitude goes beyond just words of thanks; it permeates one's perspective on life. Be appreciative, and you will see that everything is wonderful.

We should obviously never regret the mistakes we made. Every error is, ultimately, a teaching moment. But another kind of remorse kills individuals literally. It is the remorse of passivity. We all suffer in life regardless of what we do.

Achieving your objectives, improving your relationships, writing a book, running a company—it is unpleasant. Achieving significant goals in life requires a great deal of time, effort, and sacrifices.

You know what else hurts, though? The guilt over inaction. Which kind of suffering causes greater agony? You must make the decision.

In this verse, Allah equates hopelessness with disbelief. As Sister Haleh beautifully puts it, “If you are a believer, you have no choice but to be an optimist.”

Being optimistic affirms our belief in Allah's wisdom and justice. Negativity, on the other hand, implies that we know better than Allah (Astaghfirullah).

Many lectures from the Mindful Muslims encourage us to accept the Qadr (destiny) of Allah, but understanding it is key. When we realize everything happens for a reason, we truly accept His Qadr. As our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Amazing is the affair of the believer. Everything that happens to him is good for him. If something good befalls him, he is grateful and that is good for him. If some difficulty befalls him, he is patient and that is good for him” (Sahih Muslim).

Have Tawakkul (trust in Allah) and prove it by being optimistic. Remember, the prophets witnessed miracles because of their certainty and trust in Allah. When you have certainty and trust in Allah, miracles happen.

I recently reflected on my life and the need to fulfill the roles of a mother, wife, a professional, daughter, and friend. I sometimes find myself losing balance, feeling overwhelmed; just when one aspect comes together, another is falling apart. It is an ongoing struggle to try to make things happen, leaving me no time to reflect on the bigger picture in life.

Speaking personally, I used to aim for a super clean house, perfect children, and had certain standards for welcoming guests, extending to my immediate and extended family. While being ambitious is admirable, one should also be practical and aware of the big priorities. Someone like me would always get carried away in details otherwise.

Knowing the priorities for life, for the month, for the week, and for the day has helped my brain filter things. Since my goals have become simpler and now seem more achievable, I feel much better and on top of things.

Have you ever heard the word equanimity? Back when I was pursuing my Master's degree, this word was so stuck in my mind, and I was inclined to choose it. Being equanimous means maintaining a steady and balanced mental mindset. Being calm and collected enables us to gracefully and calmly handle life's many unexpected twists and turns.

The good news is that equanimity is not merely an innate personality quality but also a mindset that can be cultivated by deliberate practice. We have the power to cultivate inner calm, responsiveness to stimuli, and detachment from results by working on ourselves. Being calm allows us to react to life's highs and lows with greater insight and clarity, making the effort well worth it.

Are you feeling stuck and frustrated, constantly battling with Procrastination, Perfectionism, and Pessimism? You're not alone!

These 3 Ps of self-sabotage can sneak into our lives and hold us back from achieving great things in life.

PROCRASTINATION: Ever found yourself putting things off because they seem overwhelming or just plain scary? Let's break that habit! Start with small, manageable steps and celebrate each tiny victory along the way.

PERFECTIONISM: Are you waiting for the 'perfect' moment, the 'perfect' idea, or the 'perfect' plan? Spoiler alert: Perfection doesn't exist! Embrace the beauty of imperfection and move forward with confidence. Every step is a step closer to your dreams.

PESSIMISM: Do doubts and negative thoughts cloud your mind, making you focus on potential failures rather than possibilities? Flip the script! Cultivate a positive mindset by focusing on your strengths and envisioning the success you deserve.

Remember, you have the power to create the life you’ve always imagined. If we recognize these patterns in ourselves is the first step to overcoming self-sabotage. By being mindful of our behavior and actively working to change it, we can break free from these destructive habits and reach our full potential.

ARE YOU CREATING YOUR OWN ROADBLOCKS?

It's possible that we're obstructing our own success without realizing it. Imagine how foolish it would be for someone to intentionally place obstacles in their path to success. In reality, that's exactly what we're doing when we act against our goals.

We may be succumbing to the voices that tell us we're inadequate: "I don't do good enough work." "I'm not capable of doing it." When we give in to these whispers, we doom ourselves to failure.

Take some time today to ask yourself: What do you really want? What is preventing you from achieving it?

Here's a list of my roadblocks:
1. I don't regularly monitor my development; I get demotivated by small setbacks.
2. I struggle with setting time boundaries.
3. I seek to make everything perfect.

You are welcome to share yours.

I was quite aware that achieving happiness and greatness in life requires a positive mindset. However, I did feel stuck despite having a lot of blessings in life.

It took a while to understand that this disconnect was rooted in my thought process, which triggered pessimism and overshadowed all the good in my life. I have come to terms with the fact that if we improve our thinking and learning, it, in turn, allows us to appreciate our blessings fully.

Let’s nurture our mental well-being, appreciate the little things, and keep our brains happy. Because a happy brain is a powerful brain with endless possibilities!

Just as our vibes influence those around us, our own thoughts shape our personal journeys. Fostering positivity not only brightens our outlook but also guides us toward better decisions and relationships.

By focusing on uplifting, constructive thoughts, we align ourselves with a path that is fulfilling and meaningful. Remember, each thought has the power to steer your direction. Choose wisely and let your journey be illuminated by positivity and purpose as right thoughts lead us to the right path!

Have you ever sensed a negative vibe from someone? People's energy and attitudes are often described in terms of positive and negative vibes.

POSITIVE vibes exude optimism, friendliness, and encouragement. Being with them typically makes you feel happy because they're enthusiastic about everything and can see the best in others. They spread optimism wherever they go and are usually sympathetic, understanding, and open-minded.

On the other hand, NEGATIVE vibe individuals might display pessimism, cynicism, or a generally gloomy outlook. They may be problem-oriented rather than solution-focused, constantly complaining, or draining others' spirits with their negativity. They struggle to see the bright side of things and can be more judgmental or critical.

It's important to remember that everyone has good and bad days. Someone who occasionally seems pessimistic might be going through a tough time. However, consistently positive or negative behavior can significantly impact your relationships, the workplace, and your overall well-being.
