Texas Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery services to the Dallas metropolitan area. Dr. Jim Bates founded the practice in 1987 following his extensive training. degree with honors from The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, and a Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree with honors from Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Dr. Bates completed a four-

year accredited residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, as well as an additional year of surgical training at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

Did you know that Texas Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the very first Dallas office-based surgery facility accredited by The Joint Commission? 🌟

We are one of only two Joint Commission-accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery practices in the state of Texas.

While there are several organizations that accredit surgical facilities, The Joint Commission is undeniably the gold standard. The Joint Commission is the nationally-recognized leader in hospital and ambulatory surgery center accreditation, as well as office-based surgery (OBS) facilities.

Our state-of-the-art office-based surgery facility was specifically designed and built according to the very stringent Joint Commission standards, and as such is unique and unparalleled in the Dallas area.

A: Well, first off, your friend should understand that wisdom tooth removal is extremely common and safe, and Dr. Bates has successfully performed the procedure countless times.
