Tonight at Kuneo, we are talking about "Life Without A Diet" and learning from Dallas Nutritional Counseling 's Tess Patterson about how diet culture can be harmful to actually taking care of our bodies, and The Misfit Whatevers are bringing us music by Olivia Rodrigo, Pink, and IDER. Join us at 8pm online or in person!

Dallas Nutritional Counseling is one of my faves to follow for quick and easy meal prep ideas! Meal planning/prepping does not need to be energy draining and stressful.

RIOTS, not diets! Casey Bonano, RD, LD, CEDRD is rebelling against the social norms that tell us what we should eat, how we should eat, or what our bodies should or should not look like. She reminds us how nutrition and our bodies are so individualized, and there is really no one "right" way to eat and exercise.
.
Casey shoots it to us straight with science as well as understanding the emotional & psychological aspects. She wants you to join rebellion and know there can be freedom from diets! There is another way.
.
Tune into this episode to hear more about the following:

1) Why diets cause physical & mental distress & hurt our health more
2) Health At Every Size & Body Inclusivity
3) How to recreate trust with food
4) Role of genetics + body acceptance
5) General balanced guidelines for nutrition: mindfulness, hunger-fullness cues, 20 minute rule + more
6) Hear her views on intermittent fasting, keto diet, low-carb, etc.

MYTH: Sugar is bad for you.

Sugar FACTS:
1️⃣ You body can use sugar for fuel. It is just a really simple form of carbohydrate, which is your body’s preferred fuel source.
2️⃣ You are not a bad person for enjoying, craving, or liking sugary treats.
3️⃣ You are not actually addicted to sugar, but I know so many people feel addicted to sugar. That experience is real and valid.
4️⃣ The research about sugar addiction is based on restriction and there was no correlation when the subjects were not starved. Meaning...we will binge on anything if we are starved, not just sugar.
5️⃣ Giving yourself full permission to eat carbohydrates (especially sugar) will actually allow you to stop over eating carbohydrates (especially sugar).

When we deprive our body of carbohydrates, our body will crave what it is missing in its simplest form and sugar is a really simple form of carbohydrate.

I wrote this ebook to help jump start your journey to healing your relationship with food.

It goes into far more detail than any Instagram post could and gives you all the info on why diets don’t work, how our culture is obsessed with health (read: thinness) and what to actually do about it.

It also has tangible skills in every section for you to implement in order to change your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with food.

You can purchase it or read the first part for FREE by visiting the link in my bio.

Congratulations Alex Leibold MS, RD, LD on earning the Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor designation!

We are so proud of all the hard work and dedication Alex has put into earning this designation. For those who do not know, the Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor designation requires self study work, course work, an examination, and supervision. The designation is earned through Elyse Resch and Evelyn Tribole who are the authors of Intuitive Eating and the original Intuitive Eating professionals. Although many practice from an Intuitive Eating lens, Alex has specifically been trained by the professionals who designed that very lens.

In addition to now being a certified intuitive eating counselor, Alex has 5 years of eating disorder specific experience and is currently working on completing her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Certification through iaedp (the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals).

Alex is licensed in Texas, New York, New Jersey, and Florida and can provide intuitive eating counseling nationally via Telehealth. If you are interested in setting up an appointment with Alex, click the link in our bio to schedule.

My name is Casey and I am habitually hungry...and so is everyone.

The only solution to hunger is eating. There is no other "fix." If you ignore it, it will get stronger. If it gets stronger, you will be more likely to overeat.

There is nothing wrong with being hungry and there is no way to avoid it.

YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO EAT.
