
MYTH: Sugar is bad for you.
Sugar FACTS:
1️⃣ You body can use sugar for fuel. It is just a really simple form of carbohydrate, which is your body’s preferred fuel source.
2️⃣ You are not a bad person for enjoying, craving, or liking sugary treats.
3️⃣ You are not actually addicted to sugar, but I know so many people feel addicted to sugar. That experience is real and valid.
4️⃣ The research about sugar addiction is based on restriction and there was no correlation when the subjects were not starved. Meaning...we will binge on anything if we are starved, not just sugar.
5️⃣ Giving yourself full permission to eat carbohydrates (especially sugar) will actually allow you to stop over eating carbohydrates (especially sugar).
When we deprive our body of carbohydrates, our body will crave what it is missing in its simplest form and sugar is a really simple form of carbohydrate.
