✨Cheers To Culture & Cocktails – Black History Month Celebration 🍠✨

Today we celebrated Black History Month with a flavorful tribute to culture, history, and tradition! Residents enjoyed chicken & waffles, candied yams, and sweet tea — dishes deeply rooted in Black culinary heritage.

🍗 Chicken & Waffles became popular in Harlem during the Harlem Renaissance at places like the famous Wells Supper Club, blending Southern comfort food with city nightlife culture.

🍠 Candied Yams trace back to West African cooking traditions, where yams were a staple food brought over during the transatlantic slave trade and became a cornerstone of Southern and soul food cuisine.

🥤 Sweet Tea has long been a symbol of Southern hospitality and community gatherings, especially in Black households where food and fellowship go hand in hand.

Today was more than a meal — it was a celebration of resilience, heritage, and the powerful influence of Black culture on American cuisine. ❤️🖤💚

We had an amazing time at our Spread the Love Valentine’s Social! A huge thank you to Liz with Bella Hospice and Bry with PC Home Health for coming out and providing the Photo Booth — both our staff and residents truly enjoyed capturing all the sweet memories! 📸💗
