The LIV Center for Reproductive Healing

The LIV Center for Reproductive Healing Reproductive health care and mental health for all I asked friends and family if what I was feeling was common, and I was not encouraged by what I heard.

When I found out I was pregnant, I went through a roller coaster emotions ranging from sad to excited to scared.Pregnancy did not start off magical as most women experience in the first trimester. However, as I progressed into the second trimester, I realized that my anxiety and depression in the beginning had not subsided. I felt shame in being depressed while pregnant, not to mention the shame I

felt for not having the perfect pregnancy. I went through much of my pregnancy alone and not empowered to reach out for help. After I gave birth, postpartum depression increased with my change in hormones. Guilt over not being perfect and supplementing breast milk with formula was the source of daily tears. I kept thinking that I was the only mom that ever struggled. I didn't reach out until I had a dramatic change in hormones from the end of nursing my daughter. It was then I found out that thousands of new mothers fight antepartum and postpartum depression every year, and I guarantee they often feel shame for not being the perfect mom too. Since my journey, I have resolved to help encourage and strengthen pregnant women and new mothers. You are not alone and no matter what type of pregnancy and birth you go through, you deserve to have support. We will make it through this together and find hope and connection in this beautiful transition into motherhood.

The transition from middle to high school can trigger anxiety, self-doubt, and social overwhelm and that’s completely normal. During adolescence, the brain is still developing emotional regulation and executive functioning, which makes supportive environments essential.

Our High School Transition Support Group provides a safe space for teens to build coping skills, boost confidence, and connect with peers facing the same changes.

Support now can make all the difference later. 💎

The first Pride was a riot. Today we remember Stonewall on this day in 1969. A protest led and organized by Black trans folks led to a movement of being seen, heard and validated. We are not fully there as trans and q***r folks are being villainized all over this country, but no one can erase the LGBTQ+ community. Happy end of the month of Pride. May its spirit carry on daily.

Not sure who needs to hear this, but you matter. You are valid. You are loved. No matter your gender, your sexuality, who you love, how you dress, or where you are in your journey, closeted, out, questioning, healing, reclaiming, you deserve to feel proud of who you are. You don’t need to explain it. You don’t need to shrink for anyone.

Pride is about love, but it’s also about protest, survival, and truth. While we celebrate, let’s not forget the people still fighting for safety, freedom, and peace around the world. Our compassion can’t stop at borders. Our solidarity has to be real.

You are always welcome here. Happy Pride Month to you, and to all of us. 🫶🏾🧡🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

About Push

So many people talk about how beautiful pregnancy, birth and motherhood are, but few tell us that it can be the hardest thing we’ve ever done. We don’t have as many conversations about not feeling like you’re doing everything perfectly and it creates the expectation that we have to be like the parent that seems to have it all. The truth is, none of us know what we are doing, it’s okay to not be okay, and comparison robs us of our value as a person and a parent.

One in five birthing people struggle during pregnancy or postpartum with depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues that impact their way of life. That’s not to mention the emotional toll of infertility, the immense pain of pregnancy and infant loss, and the roller coaster that comes with raising children into adults. Although this feeling is lonely, you do not have to do this alone. Reaching out for support is not weakness, but it is strength. You are in the right place. Push is a practice of women that are passionate about supporting mothers because of our journeys serving moms and becoming moms in one way or another.

Even if you go no further, we are proud of you for taking the first step just to see what resources exist. It feels overwhelming and maybe scary, but our job is to simply help remind you of your value as an individual and your worth as a mother. We want you to feel you’re in a place of no judgment and no shame. Your feelings matter and although you’re not okay now, we look forward to walking with you on journey from surviving to thriving. You can do this!
