In the 1970s, an Indian street artist named PK sketched portraits on the sidewalks of New Delhi. He was poor, from one of India’s lowest castes… but his art carried something priceless: soul.
One day, fate sent him Charlotte — a Swedish woman from an aristocratic family. Two worlds collided. Two hearts clicked. They married in India, but soon Charlotte had to return home.
PK didn’t take a plane ticket. Instead, he promised: “I’ll come to you… my own way.”
So in 1978, with almost nothing but a bike, a bag, and her address, he set off. He pedaled across Asia and Europe — Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Yugoslavia, Germany, Denmark… sketching strangers for food, surviving deserts, mountains, and war zones.
After 7,000 km and four brutal months, he arrived in Sweden. Knocked on her door. She opened it. And the love story of a lifetime became real.
They built a life, raised kids, and grew old together — living proof that when love is real, no border, no class, no distance can stop it.
