🎉 2025 was a beautiful year! 🎉
We had the privilege of serving so many lovely people. Thank you for trusting us!
💕 As I worked on these statistics, I felt so proud of our overall cesarean rate being 2.73% when the average in Texas is 35%. ‼️‼️‼️ This is HUGE and is because the women we have served have worked so hard to have vaginal births.
💪 In pregnancy, they hired doulas, worked out, monitored their blood sugar, took childbirth education, went to the chiropractor, and worked out some more to increase their likelihood of having a vaginal birth. This meant some of them had their easiest birth. Others pushed themselves harder than they knew possible to have a vaginal birth.
☕️ Us midwives also pushed ourselves hard to problem solve, monitor well but not too much, and figure out how to help everyone have a baby exit their body. I am amazed at what women are capable of.
🎉 Another part of midwifery and being a woman is loss and I am thankful to walk with women when their pregnancy does not go as expected. Women’s strength in their grief is profound and not something I want to overlook in these stats. I am filled with gratitude to witness such a sacred time and hold your tears, not just your laughter.
💙 Some of our clients worked so hard and still had unexpected interventions. I don’t think this is talked about enough. Sometimes we do everything and still have forceps, vacuum or a cesarean. This is hard physically, mentally and emotionally. Healing takes time. For all of these families, please be so proud of yourselves for giving your baby the best start you could + following your intuition when you needed to walk a different path. That is what motherhood is all about.
⭐️ Thank you to all of the birth assistants, doulas, chiropractors, pelvic floor physical therapists, lactation consultants, and body work with that made 2025 what it was! We appreciate and love you all!
💕 Much love and hugs!
