Happy Birthday to our Admin, Jessica! 🥳

If you’ve been with us for a little while, you know we added an admin helper! The NTXM midwives feel so blessed by her help!

Jessica is a mother of eight with a truly unique perspective on birth based on her own experiences. She has had preterm, term, hospital, birth center, and home births. Fun fact: Bethany has actually caught the last three of her babies! The first was back in 2016 when Bethany was still a student, and two more followed over the years. Jessica’s seventh baby was even the very first baby ever born in the North Texas Midwifery practice in 2018. 🎉 Midwife Becky assisted Bethany at all three births as well - first as a student, and then as a licensed midwife alongside Bethany.

Jessica holds a special place in our hearts! Not only for trusting us with her care for so many years, but also for her friendship and faithful prayers over us as women and midwives.

Now, we get the joy of having her on our team! She keeps our practice running smoothly. Cheering on our clients from your first inquiry, helping with scheduling and rescheduling, praying for you during labor, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks. Jessica keeps us organized and we are so grateful for how she is improving the way things run around here at North Texas Midwifery.

We are so excited to share the news of a precious baby girl’s arrival! 💕

Birth doesn’t always unfold the way we imagine, but this strong and courageous mama did an incredible job bringing her little one into the world. We are so proud of her and grateful for the wonderful partnership we have with our local hospitals when plans need to change.

Every birth is unique, and every story is written in God’s perfect timing and plan. Congratulations to this beautiful family on their newest blessing! 👶

A sweet baby boy weighing 6 lbs and 5 oz, made his entrance in this world right into his mama’s arms! 🥰 We are so proud of her! She trusted herself and birthed standing strong in her own bedroom.

If you’ve been with our practice for a while, chances are you’ve met, and been cared for by, the amazing Inna! She joined us in 2022 as a faithful birth assistant, student, and now midwife and has been a kind, compassionate, and steady presence for so many families.

Inna is an experienced midwife who has attended countless births and navigated a variety of cases, including emergencies, with skill and grace. We’re truly spoiled to have her as our most consistent birth assistant! Inna also covers clinic days for prenatal appointments so she can connect with all of our clients before their big day (and so you can get to know her, too!) and is a smiling face at some of your postpartum appointments.

Outside of midwifery, Inna is a mother of five and has experienced natural hospital births, birth center births, and home births herself. She’s a prayer warrior, a peaceful presence and a treasured part of our team. 🧡

✨ 24-48 Hour Postpartum Home Visits: A Midwife’s Perspective ✨

There’s nothing quite like the first 24 hours after giving birth, especially for a first-time mom. It’s a beautiful blur of bonding, learning, healing, and emotions. As a midwife, this is one of the most sacred windows of care we offer: the 24-48 hour postpartum home visit.

Why is this visit so important?

🧡 Support When It’s Needed Most
Whether birth happened at home, a birth center, or hospital, the first days or at home can feel overwhelming. As your midwife, we come to you to offer reassurance, answer questions, and help ease that transition into parenthood.

👶 Baby Checks
We assess baby’s feeding, weight, jaundice risk, temperature, and general well-being. We go at your pace. We can watch feeding, help with latch if needed, and offer gentle guidance on newborn cues.

🤱 Mom’s Recovery
We check vital signs, bleeding, uterus, perineum (if needed), and how you're feeling emotionally and physically. Whether you’re riding a hormonal high or feeling fragile, we are here for you.

🫶 Reassurance, Not Rush
There’s no time limit. We listen to your birth story, hold space for your questions, and celebrate your incredible journey. Whether it’s your first time diapering a newborn or wondering if baby’s sleep is “normal”, this visit is your time to breathe, feel supported, and be seen.

💛 For First-Time Moms Especially
Everything is new. Every sound, every feeding, every emotion. Our goal is to wrap care around you in those early hours, to remind you that you're doing beautifully, even if it doesn’t feel like it yet.

Being invited into your home during this tender time is an honor we don’t take lightly. If you’re preparing for your first birth and wondering what postpartum care will look like, this visit is where it all begins.

Babies love to be born on the weekend!

We’re so grateful for this team and for a first-time mom who felt confident in her decision to birth where she felt most at home - literally!

After just four hours of active labor and twenty minutes of pushing, she brought her baby girl earthside in her own room, surrounded by love and support.

A special thanks to doula Gina, birth assistants Becky and Rosabeth, and chiropractor Joy for helping create such a smooth labor and birth. 💕

Mama, we are incredibly proud of you and all the strength you showed in bringing your daughter into the world on your own terms. 🎉

🚨 OFFICE EMERGENCY KIT: BABY EDITION 🚨

You never know when someone’s going to go into labor… like really into labor. So yes, we have an emergency childbirth kit on hand - complete with drop cloths, gloves, towels, and all the things necessary for an unplanned but very memorable delivery in the office or parking lot.

We’re not saying we want to deliver a baby on site, we’re just saying… if it happens, we’re weirdly ready. 👶🧼🧻🩺

Because nothing says "teamwork" like catching a baby between appointments. 😉

This sweet girl was welcomed with so much love by her big brother, her amazing parents, and many others who already adore her! She arrived weighing 7lbs 3oz and has been growing beautifully ever since.

Nothing fills our midwife hearts more than watching mamas and babies thrive. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your motherhood journey, it’s truly an honor. 💕

There’s something unforgettable about a birth that begins in the quiet hours of the night when the world is still, the lights are low, and time seems to pause. It’s always an honor supporting a strong, radiant first-time mama as she welcomes her baby earthside.

Stepping outside to the sun rising, painting the sky with soft golds and pinks. Birds singing, the world waking up and a brand new little human breathing in their very first morning. 🥰

We are so grateful to walk this path, to witness these sacred beginnings, and to work shoulder-to-shoulder with such a dedicated, compassionate team. 🧡 Thank you for trusting us to walk alongside you.
