TPA representatives met today at the district office of Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (D-El Paso). CEO RoxAnn Dominguez was joined by three student members: Jessika Cox, Caitlyn Lucore (chair-elect of TPA’s Academy of Student Pharmacists), and Crystal Barraza from the UTEP School of Pharmacy. They visited with congressional staff members Kayley Castillo and Daniel Flores to discuss the federal Equitable Community Access to Pharmacist Services (ECAPS) Act, pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) reform, and ways that pharmacy could make good use of funding from the new CMS Rural Health Transformation Program.

Advocacy in Action: TPA Past President Dennis Song visited with State Senator Tan Parker and his staff member Everett Eads yesterday at the Lewisville Noon Rotary Club meeting. Song knows both of them well, which is a good reminder for professionals to get to know their elected leaders and meet with them during the legislative interim. Relationships matter in politics! ✨ What a way to kick off the year!

We had over 70 people join us for our Annual Kickoff Meeting, where we:
• Installed our new officers and board of directors, led by none other than Chris Dembny — past DAPA President, former TSBP Board Member, and past Speaker of the House for the Texas Pharmacy Association 👏
• Welcomed our new student liaisons 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓
• Heard an incredible presentation from Dr. Carrie Koenigsfield on the RSV vaccine, Arexvy 🧪

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers — your time, dedication, and passion drive this association forward. 💙
