YOU are unique and so is your story. When you feel alone in the forest it helps to have a small whisper with you. I can help lead the way. Eating disorder therapy practice at LifeWorks Counseling, where we value creativity, community, and truth.

Recovering from an eating disorder requires grieving and honoring the eating disorder for the things it did to save you. No one understands how hard it is to walk away from the thing that at one point saved you from hurting. Let's start the journey of grieving that loss together. I get it. I've been there and will hold the flashlight in the dark.

I stopped today to move this guy out of the road. What happened next was a comedy of me chasing him from one side of under my car to the other, while I am trying to explain I’m trying to save his life and he needs to get out of the road.

I’m grateful for nature. We crave a full sensory experience. Nature offers that. Do youfond places to plug in all your senses? It’s a vital piece of expression!

Most people think you are supposed to ‘get over it’. You don’t.

Here's what I most want you to know: this really is as bad as you think.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
No matter what anyone else says, this sucks. What has happened cannot be made right. What is lost cannot be restored. There is no beauty here, inside this central fact.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Acknowledgement is everything.⁣⁣
You're in pain. It can't be made better.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The reality of grief is far different from what others see from the outside. There is pain in this world that you can't be cheered out of.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
You don't need solutions. You don't need to move on from your grief. You need someone to see your grief, to acknowledge it. You need someone to hold your hand while you stand there in blinking horror, staring at the hole that was your life.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Some things cannot be fixed. They can only be carried.⁣⁣
⁣⁣

So TRUE’

Many people often identify being “good” or “bad” based on their food or exercise choices, but these are not capable of determining the quality of a person.

Nutrition and movement choices are nothing more or less than personal preference, and a person’s self-worth is not tied to them.

03/16/2022

As women, as mothers, we must learn to reject the culture of body hatred to stop the trauma it creates in young girls learning that hating their body is an accepted norm.

03/15/2022

Did you know how you ate yesterday or how you eat today doesn’t mean you were good or bad? Food isn’t a moral issue!
