He earned a BA from Asbury College in Wilmore, KY, with a MS from the University of South Alabama, Mobile, Alabama, and is completing a dissertation in fulfillment for a PhD from Walden University, Minneapolis, MN. La Force conducted research and provided treatment for Rwandan genocide survivors with posttraumatic stress disorder in the country of Rwanda, Africa. He completed his doctoral internsh
ip at Larned State Hospital in Larned, Kansas where he ran the Competency to Stand Trial Unit for adult male forensic patients. La Force completed a stint in Queensland, Australia where he wrote behavior plans for intellectually disadvantaged adults while in the service of the Queensland government. Prior to his work in Australia, Mr. La Force owned a private counseling practice for 17 years in Mobile, Alabama. It was during that time that he hosted a weekly live call-in radio talk show. La Force's areas of specialty are trauma, compulsive sexual behavior, sexual orientation and faith, and borderline personality disorder.
