Get to know Preston!

👋 What inspired you to work with neurodivergent clients?
I appreciate the unique perspectives my clients share with me about their neurodivergent experience - everyone has such a different experience of life! I can relate to feeling different and know it can feel validating to have someone fully understand you. I love helping people understand how their brain works and how to best support themselves.

🩵 How would you describe your therapy style?
I’m warm, accepting, and flexible in the therapy room. I use a brain-based perspective for understanding and supporting clients and families. I strive to create a space for clients to process, feel deeply, and be challenged when working through big moments in life.

☀️ How do you recharge and practice self care?
I love being outside, and I recharge best when I’m active and moving. I like to work in my garden, run with my dogs, and watch my son learn and explore.

💬 What’s something clients have told you they appreciate about you?
Clients say it’s easy to build rapport and feel comfortable during our time together. It’s an honor when clients return after time away because they still feel the foundation of trust.

🌈 What’s a core value that guides your work as a therapist?
I really value individuality and authenticity. My job is to support and build confidence in all the unique parts of my clients. I help clients to learn and grow while honoring their authenticity.

🛋️ What’s something in your office that brings you joy?
My office has a full wall of windows that looks out into a tree canopy. It’s grounding to have natural light and green views during heavy moments in therapy.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🤍

Taking care of your mental health looks different for everyone. Sometimes it looks like rest, sometimes it’s connection, movement, boundaries, therapy, or making it through the day with self-compassion.

This or that — which ones helps you recharge most? ✨
Remember to check in with yourself and those around you.

Instead of focusing on changing autistic traits, neurodiversity-affirming therapy focuses on helping the person live a life that works for them, prioritizes autonomy, and values individual needs 💛

For Autism Acceptance Month, we are continuing to highlight the importance of valuing lived experiences. 💙

Siena Castellon’s The Spectrum Girl’s Survival Guide is an empowering, honest resource written by an autistic teen for autistic girls and young women. It covers everything from understanding friendships and managing sensory overload to navigating school, anxiety, and self-advocacy—with practical advice that feels relatable and real. 💛

This book is especially valuable for autistic girls, teens exploring a diagnosis, and those who may feel overlooked or misunderstood—but it’s also a meaningful read for parents, educators, and allies who want to better understand and support neurodivergent experiences.

As part of Autism Acceptance Month, we acknowledge that acceptance begins with understanding. Understanding can start with an evaluation to help you begin the journey of understanding yourself or your child. 💙

At our practice, evaluations are designed to help support understanding. From identifying strengths and differences to providing documentation for schools or insurance, each step is about building a clearer picture.

We assure that you walk away with a plan, direction, and the confidence to know what comes next.

If you’ve been wondering whether an evaluation is the right step, this month is a meaningful time to begin that conversation.

This Autism Acceptance Month, we’re thinking about more than acceptance + awareness: we’re also thinking about ACCESS. Most families don’t struggle to find help, they get stuck trying to access it.

At Spectra/Illumination Psychological Testing, we’ve streamlined our evaluation process to help families move forward with clarity. Click the link in our bio to learn more!

For Autism Acceptance Month, we are highlighting the importance of valuing lived experiences. 💙

Dr. Megan Anna Neff, founder of Neurodivergent Insights, is a neurodivergent (Autistic–ADHD) clinical psychologist, researcher, and educator whose work has helped many people understand autism and ADHD.

Through her work, she translates complex neurodivergent experiences into accessible, evidence-based tools that center self-understanding, nervous system regulation, and identity. Her voice—and the voices she amplifies—remind us that authentic understanding comes from within the community.
