ness program is based on functionality. Aesthetics are a side effect of our training plan, not our goal. It is our philosophy that your results are a direct reflection of the effort and sacrifice you put forth; we ask you to do nothing that we have not already done. Our only request is that if you use our training, do so with courage and heart. Train to your highest level of intensity and hold nothing back. There is no magic rep scheme or workout; the magic is in your determination and how you overcome your obstacles. As coaches, we are here to provide you with direction and to help you maintain your focus; it is up to you to accept the challenge and become the athlete within yourself.

‘MURPH’

Murph is coming up. We are all ready even if we didn’t participate in the ‘Murph Prep Mondays’.
Remember, this workout is about honoring a fallen hero and community.
You will want to be smart in modifications for yourself so that you can enjoy the weekend with whatever you want to do AND be back in the gym with full force on Tuesday. Here are some ideas:

Beginner: “Half Murph”
1/2 mile Run
50 Pull-Ups
100 Push-Ups
150 Air Squats
1/2 mile Run
(no Weight Vest)

Intermediate (A)
Perform full “Murph” without a weight vest

Intermediate (B)
Perform “Half Murph” with a weight vest (20/14 lb)

Dumbbell Only
For time:
1 mile Run
100 Dumbbell Bent Over Rows
200 Push-ups
300 Air Squats
1 mile Run

No Equipment
For time:
1 mile Run
200 Push-Ups
300 Air Squats
400 Sit-Ups
1 mile Run

Remember whether you’re doing the WOD with a group or solo, Rx or Scaled, if you do it on US Memorial Day weekend (this year it’s Mon, May 29), you'll be part of a huge global community doing this annual workout together.

Options to do it at NDCF:
Saturday, May 27—7:30 and 9:00 am
Monday, May 29—- 9:00 am
* that is the ONLY class this day. Regular hours resume Tuesday.

Why do The Open?

It represents the opportunity to be part of something bigger, to spark inspiration, to find motivation to move a little bit faster, to learn a new skill, to go a little bit heavier, and to pay a little more attention to your repetitions and the quality of your movement. You have the opportunity to care a little more about the people around you, to be invested in something more than your own workout, and to be invested in everyone else’s successes and triumphs in addition to your own.

The 2023 CrossFit Games season kicks off with the CrossFit Open, a three-week international competition where anyone — regardless of fitness level or ability — can compete in the biggest fitness competition in history. The 2023 Open will take place from Feb. 16 - March 6.

We promise the smiles,

2 truths and a lie-

1. It's common to underestimate ourselves before the clock starts. But more common to be proud of ourselves when the clock ends.

2. You must be in shape before joining North Dallas
CrossFit.

3. Fitness-ing with friends induces more mid-workout smiles/and or laughs.

We hope this was an easy one, but just in case: #2 is a BIG lie!
