Pediatric Heart Specialists

[04/06/20]   At Pediatric Heart Specialists, we are continuing to carry out our mission to support and care for kids’ hearts in a positive and life-changing way. Currently, we are continuing to see patients and accept new patients when it is safe and prudent to do so. Our number one concern is the health and safety of our patients and their families, team members and community. With that in mind and considering the evolving novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we are strategically adjusting our operations based on the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommending continued social distancing, including prioritizing urgent visits.

Our current measures in place to limit exposure and prevent transmission include:
• Limiting the number of clinic locations to include Dallas, Plano and Tyler only during this time.
• Following the CDC’s recommendations and pre-screening all patients that will potentially be entering our office locations.
• Offering virtual screening visits as well as in-person visits so no patient has to wait to at least begin their cardiac evaluation
• Following social distancing by limiting the number of patients being seen each day, only allowing one family in the waiting room at a time and pulling patients and their families back into exam rooms immediately.
• For employees working onsite, we have implemented daily employee symptom screenings.

If your child is sick or has been exposed to COVID-19:
• We ask that if you or your child is experiencing a medical emergency, please dial 911 immediately.
• If your child is experiencing flu-like symptoms (cough, shortness of breath and feeling feverish), or if you suspect your child has been exposed to COVID-19, please contact your primary care provider.

We promise to keep you updated on any changes with our practice as this situation continually evolves.

Please contact our office with any questions or concerns. (972)331-9700. Lastly, many of our staff are working remotely, so in the event you leave a message, please know we will return your call as soon as possible.
