We are so pleased to welcome the newest member of our Park Cities Pediatrics family!
Dr. Kristen Kammerer is a board-certified pediatrician with 10 years of experience caring for children. She grew up in Michigan and trained in Florida. Her residency and early career was as an Air Force Pediatrician in DC, Alaska, Japan, and Colorado. Her husband is from Plano and they returned to Dallas 5 years ago with their two young children. She is an active volunteer at her children’s school library and PTA as well as the Richardson ISD Clothes Closet. Her favorite activities are gardening, bike-riding, and exploring new cities.
She enjoys partnering with parents, caregivers, and children to achieve optimal health. Dr. Kammerer is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Texas Medical Association, Texas Pediatric Society, and Pediatric Society of Greater Dallas and is able to care for newborns at Medical City Dallas and Texas Health Presbyterian-Dallas. She is excited to join the team at Park Cities Pediatrics and continue their long tradition of excellent pediatric care.
We are so proud of our patients for their dedication to social distancing! We still recommend everyone due for routine immunizations keep their appointments. We have changed our schedule to allow for only well visits in the morning and then very limited sick visits and many telehealth visits in the afternoon.
We don’t want anyone’s health to be neglected, so we have expanded our telehealth utilization. If you think your child needs to be seen, please call our office and inquire about telehealth. You don’t need any special equipment other than a cell phone with a camera. A link is texted to your phone immediately prior to your appointment and we connect. To assist with the care of your child we ask for an accurate weight (home scales are fine) and the ability to see and interact with them on the phone (no telehealth visits while the child is asleep in the other room).
As always our Nurse Advice Line is happy to take any questions after hours. We appreciate everyone’s patience during these trying times.
At Park Cities Pediatrics, we are following the developments of SARS-CoV-2 also known as Coronavirus very closely. Our goal is the health of your children, but also of the entire community. Right now we are experiencing a sharp increase in positive cases in Dallas and surrounding counties, but we think this number underestimates the actual number of cases. Because of the widespread nature of the illness, we continue to recommend that everyone practice “social distancing” in order to slow the spread of illness.
As of right now we have changed our schedule to allow for well child visits (especially those with vaccinations) in the morning and sick visits only in the afternoon. If you have not been contacted about rescheduling your appointment, you will be soon. We have not had any problem accommodating everyone, but as this illness spreads, we might see a sharp increase in patient visits. For the time being, we have asked parents to postpone lower acuity visits if possible. For example, mild upper respiratory symptoms, behavior concerns, stable chronic concerns, and mild injuries. We are always happy to advise some good home care over the phone.
Currently there is no readily available test for Coronavirus for mildly ill individuals (tests are being rationed for sicker individuals) so we cannot offer any testing presently. We expect that to change in the future and will let you know when that happens. If your child is experiencing mild congestion, cough, and/or fever, and you are concerned for Coronavirus, we ask that you manage it at home.
If you have questions or concerns feel free to call us and thanks to everyone for bearing with us during these troubling times.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but being a mom is hard and you’re doing an awesome job. Keep it up!!

The office will be closed 12/25 and 12/26. We will reopen 12/27. Please feel free to call the nurse advice line if you have any concerns while we are closed.

Happy Thanksgiving! We will be closed today and tomorrow in celebration.

Parents, Brace Yourselves - Cold, Flu Season Is Here! A variety of bugs are making their way through the region right now, including respiratory viruses and the first wave of the flu.
We will be closed for Memorial Day on 5/27/19 and will close early Friday 5/24/19. Please call for an appointment and we will see everybody.
Greetings Park Cities Pediatrics Families!
We wanted to reach out and let you know that we are filling up for the next few weeks. Please check your child’s camp and school form deadline dates and plan accordingly. We will do our best to try to fit all of our families in. Please know that there is limited availability for coveted times, specifically latest and earliest appointments, and we ask that you work with us on that.
Please keep in mind that most insurance only covers one well child visit in 365 days. If you know that you need a form signed and it asks that you have a physical done after a certain date (ex: 5/15/19), and your child has had a well visit in the last year (ex: 11/19/18) call your insurance company and ask if they cover year to date well child exams (once every 365 days) or once every calendar year (ex: if they cover a well visit done 2018 and one in 2019, but not exactly 365 days apart). You may have to pay out of pocket which is $85.00 per office visit plus any additional services.
We are able to fill out forms when well visits have been in the past year. If your child has not had a well visit in the last year they will need to have one before we fill out forms.
You can always email or fax us your forms. Our email is [email protected], and our fax is 214-373-4841.
Thanks for your understanding!

That awesome feeling when your former employee comes by during a break in medical school. We miss you Miss Blake!!!
Great advice on how to prepare for the time change!
We will be open 12/24 in the morning for sick visits. Please call first thing if your child needs to be seen.
We will be closed 12/25 and 12/26.
Merry Christmas!

We will be closed Thursday and Friday of this week to celebrate Thanksgiving. Have a safe and happy holiday!
