Nourish and Nurture Lactation Consulting

Nourish and Nurture Lactation Consulting Lactation consulting in your home by an IBCLC. Helping you achieve your breastfeeding goals and over I'm the mother of three children ages 15, 13, and 10.

Moms and babies are my passion and I would love to help you meet your breastfeeding goals. I have had the pleasure of working with a wide range of clients during my career of 20 years including premature infants in NICU, newborns and mothers on postpartum in a hospital setting, multiples, exclusively pumping moms, and various ages of nursing infants and toddlers. I have been an RN for 20 years and

an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) for 10 years. An IBCLC specializes in the clinical management of breastfeeding. I've taught prenatal classes including childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care for 10 years. My consulting experience includes many breastfeeding issues such as painful latch, tongue tie, sore nipples, slow weight gain, low milk supply, and many other issues related to lactation or direct breastfeeding. My goal is to provide the community with convenient, low-stress home based appointments where we can make a plan that suits your situation and your baby's needs. I look forward to helping you nourish and nurture your little one.

This is happening in every state. Insurance companies failing to cover basic and complex lactation consults. The laws put in place 10 yrs ago or so were not specific enough so the companies don’t have to comply and no one is enforcing it.
In the end they will pay for less healthy moms and babies. The families are hit hardest though.

Moms in Mississippi now face out-of-pocket costs of over $100 per session for breastfeeding help – and are calling on lawmakers and the state’s largest private insurer to step up.

CR made over 120 bottles of formula using Baby Brezza and Baby Exo baby formula makers and found that all failed to deliver the right amount of formula powder into bottles.

It's no wonder that Patagonia has 100% retention of moms.

Any new or expecting parents need this service. I see dozens of babies each week and many are not restrained in their car seats safely . I’ve suggested how to position babies many times. New parenthood is a busy time. Reading a manual is not easy honestly . The car seat manufacturers could do better. This business is an amazing addition to our community and he’s a dad of young children who is certified to help you safely install car seats, baby proof and more! https://www.facebook.com/share/XnMUYxz9y45oJfyd/?mibextid=LQQJ4d

Frequently I hear that my patients are told they cannot breastfeed after a procedure or during a medication. 99% of the time that is false. Many healthcare providers do not know which resources to use about drugs during lactation.
This resource (Trash the Pump and Dump) started because of the misinformation mothers receive that can sabotage a breastfeeding relationship or cause unnecessary stress.
There are many more resources and studies about medications during breastfeeding. Pregnancy resources provide different insights than lactation resources.
Call your IBCLC or speak with a knowledgeable midwife, Pediatrician , or OB. Ask where there source is from if you are told to pump or not feed your baby your milk.

I am often asked how to know if insurance will cover lactation consults , if a mother can have a consult before birth to talk about what to expect , or to troubleshoot what may have happened with a previous child. The answer is yes. With or without insurance coverage you can get lactation support before and after birth. The link below will direct you to a billing company I contract with . They will check your plan and email within 24-48 hrs. HSA /FSA funds can be used if insurance doesn’t cover.
